If you love baking cookies then you will know you can use cookie cutters to make them into specific shapes. You do not need to be limited by the cookie cutters you can buy in the shop though. You can actually make your own cookie cutters. This hub will teach you how to make your own cookie cutters.

Take an aluminium pan and draw straight lines on the bottom of it lengthwise, using a ruler and permanent marker to ensure the edges are straight and uniform in size. The lines should be at minimum 1" apart.

With a pair of heavy duty scissors you need to cut out the strips that were drawn on the bottom of the pan. You want to be careful while doing this as you do not want to cut yourself.

Take some paper and start designing the cutters. Let your creative juices flow. Try tracing around things suck as stars, a heart, hands etc. Keep in the back of your mind that the perimeter of your cutter can be no longer than your longest strip.

Take one of the aluminium strips and start moulding it around your design.

Once you have moulded the strip around the design you need to close it. Do this by overlaping the ends of the aluminium strips and staple together more than once.

If there are any nicks or burrs than take a metal file and grind these off. Wash you cookie cutters and they are ready to use.
