First off you need to combine your ingredients which are flour, salt, oil, cream of tartar and water in a medium-sized pan.

Now if you want coloful playdough you need to add some food coloring.

Take the pan and place on the stove. Cook over medium heat making sure you stir constantly.

Once the playdough forms a ball and can no longer be stirred remove the dough from the heat.

Let the mixture cool slightly, then knead the dough until it is smooth.

Store the dough in an airtight container or plastic bag to keep it from drying out.
