Make Yourself Aware: Basics of Palmistry

Most of the people want to know what is written in their hands! It means they are eager to know the future about themselves. This is one tendency we humans have that we always want to know about our future regarding so many things; as well as to find out the things as alternatives also! We look for such kind of things and some time we just rush for that!
Palmistry is one of the well known, popular and relevant approaches for that and a good palmist mostly leads you for correct things and right attitude for yourself to follow. It is said that those who want to get guidelines for the life, have really good chance to get the right things out of palmistry because of practical and day to day approach!
Palmistry is really interesting: If some one has the patience and habit to count small and little things, then this is a good subject! Palmistry has lots of things related with over all hand; its shape, hardness and softness of the palm, fingers, its tips, nails and its shape, colors and spots over there! It means that your palm has a map of your life and its possibilities indicating some kind of your future!
One has to note that besides all the lines in the hands there would be new lines coming up or some line/s just disappears! Some great palmists have always favored palmistry because of its changing patterns with time, place and the person's attitude! And this changes make palmistry very interesting and challenging!
Primary and Basic Things
Now let us make aware about few primary things/ basics of the palmistry: Mostly right hand is concerned for detailed study. I also found that right hand's significance is really correct in women also! Indian general palmistry is considering right hand for men and left hand for women. But in real, to study and to reach reliable conclusion both hand should be seen together for final reading: This helps the palmist to understand the person's real characteristics regarding personal choice, deeds and attitudes, which always leads over all image of any person's present and futuristic predictions!
The Planetary mounts
All the planets are set near each finger and thumb: First finger has mount if Jupiter, second finger holds mount of Saturn, Sun shines under the base of third finger and last small finger is taking care of mount of mercury! The Venus is set under the base of thumb. Mars is divided in to two: lower Mars and upper Mars. Lower Mars is set between the thumb and mount of Jupiter, the life line runs touching its base! While upper Mars is in between head line and heart line bellow the mount of Mercury (See the figure 1).
The mount of Moon (Luna) is positioned at the bellow left side corner area (in right hand and opposite in the left hand) of the palm. The slope of mount of Venus and mount of Moon touches the life line near the base of the hand.
Indian palmistry has Rahu and Ketu both in the palm also: Bellow the heart line and above the headline the central area is called Rahu and bellow the headline but in the center of the palm is called Ketu area! Western palmistry identifies Rahu area as Mystic Square and Ketu area as mystic tringle! In Indian astrology Rahu and Ketu both are known as mystic planets too! So both the methods have same thing using different words (See the figure 1)!
Main Lines
We have three main lines in our hands; Life line, Head line and Heart line. We can count three more line also; Fate line, Sun line, Liver line! The picture (see the figure 2) shows all the six lines: These lines some time vary also. Some times lines are broken, scattered, thin, thick and with spots. One has to consider all such things for real palm reading.
Life line mostly starts from the base of two mounts, Jupiter and lower Mars. Life line runs by covering lower Mars and the mount of Venus and goes down, creating a curve, up to the base of the hand. A deep and straight line is considered good life line and supports the person's longevity. The best life line would have a thin and deep line running with a flow of balanced color pattern and covering more than one third area of the palm.
The head line some time starts with life line and after life line goes down creating curve, the head line goes ahead across the palm. Some time head line starts separately and runs parallel to life line.
The heart line comes up from the base of mount of Mercury and runs with little curve up to mount of Jupiter or some time ends up with two forks; one goes towards Jupiter and one on Saturn!
Fate line mostly ends up at the mount of Saturn, while Sun line goes towards mount of Sun! The liver line known as mercury line also, some palmists consider this line as business line! All these lines start from or around the Ketu Area means the area of mystic triangle! It is noted that the best fate line rises from the base of the palm and goes straight to the mount of Saturn, in rare cases it goes to mount of Jupiter also! But it is not easy to interpret such rare occurring because it has different meaning regarding overall appearance of the line and other planetary positions!
Liver line is indicates the health criteria and broken or scattered liver line considered as creating health issues related with intestine, digestion and liver functioning. This line is straight and thin then it helps improving health after constant illness during childhood or teen age! It also gives and assurance about the business success suddenly and provides the person intuitive insight about business and its growth!
Sun line is also unique if it is running across the palm! This line is connected with fame and recognition in the related fields as well as provides some time easy go life also! Mostly good Sun line is rare but if sun line is there then the person has some thing for fame and popularity or significance in his or her work/ field! It indicates the time factor regarding such happening. Sun line starts from various areas; base of the palm, middle of the palm, from life line, from Rahu area, or some time just from or near the heart line!
This was an introduction to palmistry and I hope that we will have few more hubs on and about palmistry time to time. I hope to put but at the same time I assume that some other interested persons would also write!

Well, Geetali, I can understand what you have asked. But my one assumption is this also, It could be supportive life line because you have also written that almost like life line!
For the general interpretation double headline gives more mental energy and/ or protect the person from mental damages. And if you know palmistry little then there should be other signs also connected so only considering this one can not say more, right? It goes with hand type, planetory position etc. right?
I think this is enough clarification for understanding the double head line conecept in general!

1) What does a trishul in the region of rahu in the palm mean?
2) When the right and left palms very diffrent from one another, does it mean anything?
3) Does a triple fork or trident at the end of the heartline signify divorce or heartbreak 3 times? Especially if the heartline breaks into 3 beneath the saturn finger does it mean meloncholy and heartbreak?
4) What is the meaning of a headline that breaks into a triple-fork somewhere between the saturn and sun fingers and
a) 1 line goes into mars and breaks again into a fork (not trishul, only 2 breaks),
b) 1 line gently slopes towards mount of moon.
c) 1 line stays at the centre of the palm almost joining the fate line.
5) What would a big island on the headline in one palm and lack of it in the right palm mean?

I have a sun line that starts at the wrist with 3 forks (like it started with prongs at the wrist). From that sun line springs my mercury line and saturn line. They form a Y just like that. the Y stops at my head line forming a very deep and large triangle in the center of my palm, then the mercury and saturn line continue but just a little fainter. a Y going straight across my palm. My head line is also forked, so that fork runs through my triangle. every major line on my hand is very very deep. I would really like to correspond with you via email about this. I am newly studying Palmistry. I am by profession and life mission a psychic (intuitive reader and a medium) and have been aware of this since I was a small child and fully accept, embrace it and use it as my small business now. I have studied psychic markings and I have them all on my hands but this Y is throwing me and I can't seem to find books that give me a clear understanding of it. i have square hand, big size and the texture is fair. with appolo finger higher set then index and every finger has vertical lines on the phalanges. I have 2 mind line and one of them is starting with the trident, on going to jupiter, one touching life line and one in between these two. The mind line is curved upwards towards the plain of mercury and crosses the whole hand. I have start on sun mount and mars mount (below jupiter and above venus) and these 2 stars are connected by line. there're 3 lines going to sun mount, one from base to the star on sun, second from the mount of luna to the sun and third from the mount of mars to the sun. then there's one line from mount of luna to jupiter and one more starting from life line in mid to jupiter. Lastly one straight line is going to mount of saturn startingfrom life line. All the munts are well formed but saturn is low set. Heart line goes to the jupiter and life line is smooth and unbreakable. Please tell the meaning of these...

If you have read and understood this hub then you would be able to identify the lines and find out that which line is not there!
Please note that mostly no one has the same kind of both the hands and so many have leterally different hands.
As per Indian theory and practices left hand is indicating past life and what you have bring with you from your past life!
What ever is there, you must count your right hand to read palm: any palmist will also follow your right hand!

Trident is always good and helping the concern line and its dimensions... But other related things should be consider regarding the overall hand pattern...
Star on jupiter indicates the positive and deep love afair ... as well as love for ideals, values and the person is spiritual then love for God and surrendership for the pupose is also indicating!

I feel I can share my knowledge here.Palmistry is real science related directly to thougths in an individual.There lies one basic understanding left hand is inherited and right hand is own created. Also other theory says left hand describes more about spouse. about the trident trident is not good except at heart line. Triangle is a good sign.Mostly when u think some thing in that area line will form.It is difficlut to identify those happned and those are future.Mosltly by my theory of happening as per thoughts we can read only past at the same time we can relate future with indiactions given.The basic nature can be judged and also favourable things such as direction, line of income , business etc., can be predicted.Fortune tellers have some standard questions and answers like if some body says u had some major issue in child hood then evry person will relate to some incident and accepts to support fortune teller. Unless you know some basic nature of planets-Sun Moon etc. in astrology u cannot judge ah nd better.Basically Palmistry depends on shape and nature of plam, size and depth of mounts and shape and depth of lines. I was looking at my right palm...i have few doubts.
I have a mercury line that fades at the time my fate line fades.
My fateline fades at some point at the centre of the palm below my headline.
there are 2 vertical parallel lines on my saturn mount too.
Iam quite worried because my life line also fades at 2/3rds the palm...doesnt go the full distance....it has no breaks in between..
I also have a simian line.
Kindly tell me what does all these mean.
Vsj10, I have read what you have mentioned. In general fading out indicates obstacles, but at the same time one has to go through over all palm when saying about some thing very predictive... This is some how a rule amongst palmists of world and so I can say that no need to worry... Life line fadding 2/3rds palm means 50 + life ...
If you are young then just work and do what ever positive things come across you... Some time lines are changing and fading things also disappear...

There are sign perticularly for love and marriage: The signs are specific and indicating certain things: For example, a star on mount Jupiter indicates happy, lovely, life long love and success in that. But at the same time one has to think as a palmist that how is life line, the position of fate line, the position of mount Jupiter and saturn and heart line. I have seen one very good star on Jupiter in one person's hand but there were no heart line... But he never married the woman (he is still unmarried) he loved, but platonic love between them contiues till the date. they both understand and happy about that...
Marriage lines are mostly between the short fingure and heart line. Clear, long and deep line always indicated the marriage/ long relationship. Short one indicates possibility or even short term relationship/s.
But please remember that palmistry readings should not done without considering the person's over all hand positions. So the person's presence is also important.

i am a 32 yr old married woman with a 3 yr old son. on my right hand i have a normal headline. However I have another line which is joint with the life line at the inception and then it make a big "U"....an arc or semi circle below the main headline. It then joins the main headline towards the end of the line (more like at 3/4th of the line). None of this is there on the left hand. What does this mean?

You have narrated about the U shape line from life line and merging with the headline, but I am really unable to visualise it properly: Is it starting from lifeline but where is it creating U shape? going through lower mars and venus mount and then cutting life line? What is exactly looking like is not clear to me so please describe with detail or send me drawing of it or send me the photo of the hand where the line is easily visible!

I have for years noticed that on my right palm I have a star at the place where the head line and the health or mercury line meet. Both lines end at this star. It is my understanding that this may indicate either a (terminal?) mental or physical event like a stroke. Is this a correct most common interpretation?
Other info--the major lines in my palms are not deep but are clearly seen, but when it comes to the area where these lines meet, things get more indistinct and you need just the right light to see them. Multiple crosses show up where the mercury line would have continued toward the heart line, and there is a distinct square between the head and the heart line.
Please help me understand some of these symbols on my right hand:
I have a 5 point star (two triangles forming a star), between the heartline and headline, beneath the apollo mount. I also have a pentagon shape (5 sides) on lower mars. I have a sun symbol (shape of circle with 5 rays shooting from it), on the heartline, on top of the 5 point star. There's a healthline, merging both the heartline and headline, forming a 3rd line (not a siamese line). This line forms a giant triangle with both the mercury line and the lifeline. There is ring circling around the base of the Jupiter finger. There seems to be endless shapes of different sorts on my hand, including 3 crosses between the heartline and headline and there's a complete circle lying between the mount of saturn and sun. I am speechless with these shapes. Please interpret these mysterious signs on my hand. All these signs are very distinguished and noticeable.

what does an eight at the beggining of sun line means?
I have a deep, well-defined line beginning at my life line. It moves uninterrupted, reaching a place between the Apollo and Saturn mounts. Just above the heart line two sisters lines (about half an inch in length) are seen parallel to that line. The sister lines and the main line (from the life line) end in a sun symbol (a circle with five rays shooting from it). Leaning against the sun symbol is a conch shape (it lies at the very top of the Saturn mount). And a temple sign with two small stars inside is seen attached to the sun symbol and cutting its way into the third phalange of my Apollo finger. Other noteworthy markings on my hand include: A large eight-pointed star on my Jupiter mount, A fish symbol facing the latter part of my life line, and a swastika on the Luna mount. Any idea what all these markings, taken together, suggest? I'd be much obliged if you can assist me in deciphering these patterns.

On my right-hand I seem to have to have two massive tridents around the base of the palm (one being slightly above the other) which are also connected through the same lines. The lines are going all the way up to Mercury, Sun and Jupiter mounts.
Also, I have a star at the beginning of my head and life lines and have two other stars on mount of Jupiter, of which one is based in the upper mount and the other on the lower mount.
I also have a circle on the mount of Apollo (Sun) but am concerned as it connects to the sun line stemming from the tridents.
What does all this mean for me, please?

i ve a prominent sunline in my right hand. on the mount of jupiter there is a symbol appearing, it looks like a sculpture- the base part is a sea shell (spiral). what does it indicate? i will grateful to get an explanation for this. thanks

I notice i have THREE (separate and very away from life line) head lines in my right palm. while its one and long, separate from life line in the left.
