Make a Hydrogen Generator
68Hydrogen generators that can be used in cars for fuel are a developing technology. There are several automative companies that have done some work with this and there are even some hydrogen fuel service stations in California and in Germany, but overall it is still a technology that is probably a long way from being useful for your average car owner.
That hasn't stopped a Do It Yourself community of folks who like to tinker with cars though. A community based around trying to adapt hydrogen for use as a fuel in concert with gasoline has cropped up and there are lots of videos online showing off different experiments that people have worked on to create their own hydrogen generator kits. You can take a look at some of these videos to see what the process is.
Hydrogen Generator DIY Safety
One of the things that some folks might be a bit careless about when they are sharing their experiments is the safety issues.
Salt produces chlorine gases and this is not something you want to be doing! Chlorine gas is a toxic irritant that can damage your respiratory system. This video shows some of the safety precautions you will want to talk while conducting your own HHO fuel experiment.

If you are planning on getting into making your own hydrogen fuel cells, you might want to check out some of the books available that include plans and experiments for working with HHO energy.
Here's a couple of guides to the specifics of fuel cells and some general information on Hydrogen Fuel. This is really a growing field, but I expect it will take off quite a bit over the next several years as we continue to look for better and more efficient alternative fuel sources. If HHO can be made efficiently, it could become a great fuel in the future.
