Kids get antsy this time of year and getting them involved in spring sports and recreation activities will help them take advantage of the great weather as well as help them either strengthen their bonds with their friends or make new ones (or both!). You can simply sign them up for the activities and leave it at that, or you can help them make the most of the activity by making custom trading cards with "Your Trading Card Maker" to enhance the activity.
Here are some ideas for sports:
- Make custom trading cards to give each team member at the end of the season. Use a photo and highlight some of their great achievements.
- Help your child set goals for the sports season. Make a list of what they want to do in the sport (e.g. get a base hit in baseball, score five goals in soccer, etc.). Each time you child reaches a goal, make trading cards to commemorate the event.
- Start early and track your child's success throughout the years. Make custom trading cards for each season of each sport your child plays. By the time he or she graduates high school, you'll have a nice "deck" of memories. If your child is already older, use photos to make trading cards for previous years.
- Make a team trading card or a series of trading cards as a thank you to your child's coaches at the end of the season.
- Get together with the coaches and devise a rewards program. Decide which "feats" deserve recreation such as "Best Team Player", "Highest Hitting Average", "Most Valuable Player" and make trading card awards to be handed out at the next practice.
- Use trading cards as a fundraiser for the team. You can sell trading cards of each team member and his or her stats to the parents. They can order them to give to grandparents, aunts and uncles and scrapbooks.
- Another way to use trading cards as a fundraiser is make discount cards for local businesses. Contact them and get them on board, then use the trading card maker to make the discount cards. Sell the discount cards for a set price.
Here are some ideas on how you can enhance your child's Parks and Rec activities:
- 1. Help your children stay organized with their activities. Make trading cards that outline their daily schedules. They will easily fit in their backpacks or wallets for quick access.
- 2. Make memorabilia trading cards for each activity that your child attends throughout the summer.
- 3. Have your children make "contact information" trading cards to give to the other children in the activities so that they can contact one another after the end of the activities.
Whether your child is involved in sports or parks and recreation activities, there are many ways in which "Your Trading Card Maker" can enhance the activity. Take the ideas above and use your imagination to find uses that work with your individual needs. Either way trading cards can add an extra dimension to your child's spring and summer sports.
