Easy and elegant

Make elegant designs for much less money

A centrepiece can really add a touch of class to a wedding or party. But they can be very expensive to buy. Here is a simple way to make your own classy, elegant centrepieces for a fraction of the cost.

You will need: Small glasses (tumblers are best as they have a sturdier base)

Fake flowers (they are easier to care for and the centrepiece can be made in advance)

Pebbles.

Photograph holders

Glass etch spray.

Step 1. Making sure you are in a well ventilated area, spray an even coat of etch spray onto the glass, this will give a misty, icy look to the glass.

Step 2. Put the photograph holder in the glass.

Step 3. Place the pebbles into the glass so that they keep the photograph holder upright. You can use any kind of pebbles for this, varnished ones from a store or normal ones from the ground, just make sure they are the clean.

Step 4. Cut the stems of the flowers and foliage to the length you want. Arrange them into the glass, adding more pebbles if necessary to keep them in place.  The gap between the pebbles and the rim of the glass should be about ½ inch. If you want more real looking flowers without the hassle, spray the fake flowers with a mixture of 1 part glycerine to 7 parts water.

Step 5. Place the item you want into the photograph holder, you can use a picture or a number card.

This will make an elegant small centrepiece that will look subtle and beautiful.

Another centrepiece idea.

You will need

Pebbles (decorative or ordinary)

Fake twigs and/or flowers

Clear glass jars or vases

Water.

Step 1: Cut the twigs/flowers to the required length.

Step 2: Half fill the jar or vase with pebbles, add enough water to cover the pebbles.

Step 3: Arrange the twigs/flowers into the vase/jar.
