This three-in-one party gem really dresses up a birthday girl's fairy princess tabletop

Looking for easy and inexpensive craft ideas for your child's Fairy Princess Party? This Fairy Princess Goblet is one of The Party Fairy's all-time favorites. It's a three-in-one gem that will dress up the table after it serves as a party activity - and at the close of the party, it goes home with children as a party favor!

It costs very little to make - and with three great uses, it's an exceptional party value. We've used it successfully at many parties over the years, and can promise you that little girls will love drinking out of the special goblets they create.

This simple craft is appropriate for almost any age, but children under age 7 will need much more assistance than older girls. Please refer to our Age Recommendations below.

Your Supply List:

9 ounce paper cups in any solid color (2 cups per child)

Smaller 8 ounce plastic cups (1 per child)

Craft Glue

Scotch Tape

Colored fabric ribbon

Gemstones, Stickers, Silk Flowers, Charms or Other Decorative Elements

What to Do:

Place one 9-ounce solid color paper cup upside down on the table. Squirt a little craft glue on the bottom of the cup. (Hot glue will not work for this project!) Stack another paper cup (right side up) on top of the bottom cup.

Next, you'll need to use Scotch Tape to secure the two cups. Simply wind a strip of tape around the seam where the cups join. Make sure the tape holds them securely and tightly against each other.

Cover the Scotch Tape with a length of cut ribbon. Use craft glue to hold it in place. Allow ribbon to dry.

Now you're ready to embellish! Use a strip of narrower ribbon to tie a bow around the center of your Fairy Princess Goblet . Tuck a miniature bouquet of silk flowers under the ribbon for a sweet look or hang a pretty charm from the ribbon.

Your party guests will have a grand time decorating their own Fairy Princess Goblets by applying stickers or gemstones to the surfaces of the top and bottom paper cups. Their handiwork will look beautiful on your Fairy Princess Tabletop and the Fairy Princesses will love drinking from these special goblets.

A NOTE OF CAUTION: Be sure to insert a plastic cup inside the goblet to hold liquid - and do not fill it more than halfway to avoid spills. When the Fairy Princesses leave the table, throw away the plastic cups and leave the goblets behind so that children can take them home as party favors.

AGE RECOMMENDATION: This craft is appropriate for almost any age, but please note that one-on-one adult supervision and assistance may be required for each child under 7. Most children ages 5 and up will be able to glue together the cups with help from an adult and then finish the project on their own. The Party Fairy recommends having the cups made in advance for all children younger than 5, and allowing little partygoers to finish the project by using glue for the sequins, gemstones or stickers.

Adding Party Favors to Goblets

If you've used a plastic cup inside the Fairy Princess Goblets, leaving them clean and intact, they will make great holders for party favors at the close of the party. Purchase inexpensive tulle circles at a craft store (they're sometimes available at dollar stores, too!) and use them to wrap princess trinkets such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, nail polish, lip gloss, gold coins, etc. Tie the tulle circle with a pretty ribbon to create a little tulle bag.

Make the tulle bags in advance, and hide them. When the children leave the table, recruit a helper to go around and remove used plastic cups from Fairy Princess Goblets and replace them with the tulle party favor bags.

Inexpensive cellophane bags tied off with pretty colored ribbon will work well, too, when tucked inside the goblets. Since cellophane bags tend to be a bit larger than the tulle circles, just be sure the favors you select will not make the bags too bulky to fit inside the goblets.

Either way, made of cellophane or tulle, the party favor bags will look fabulous in the Fairy Princess Goblets -- and the children will look overjoyed when you tell them that the Fairy Queen liked their goblets so much she sent the fairies to fill the goblets with some special rewards.
