Think of it this way, you're in business. Your business is designed to do what? Make money, right? How does ANY business make money? They have to sell something to someone. In order to do that, you have to have customers (doctors call them patients, lawyers call them clients).

If someone doesn't know you, why in the world would they buy ANYTHING from you? You could be just some nut on the internet for all they know.

By offering something for free, you're giving the interested person a free ride to test your stuff, on their time, when they feel like it. You may never correspond with the person personally, but that's not your decision, that's theirs.

After they feel more and more comfortable with you, they'll start to buy stuff from you. So, you then offer something for a fee. And, if they don't take that item, you still have them as a shopper in your store, they may be interested in something else later on. Get it? They will STILL be your customer even if they don't buy something. And it all started with a free Ecourse.
