Thanks ralwus - love your little birdie - I used to have a budgie myself - best friends in the world :)
Madame that was AWESOME !!! Now the ACLU Is gonna probably try to take that fire to court .
tony - LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL :) Yep - you hit it spot on!
Unbelievable!
Amazing pictures. The wild fires are quite brutal. Back in the day I lived in California and had a friend who lived behind the Marine Air station of El Toro. I helped him evacuate several times as these fires came almost yearly.
One particular year the fire consumed his residence. We were escaping with the last load we were able to get, the fire dancing on one side of the road, the radiating heat was unbelievably hot. We saw a wooden utility pole across the road from the fire burst into flames as we rocketed by. It was a good 200 feet from the fire.
After first hand experience, the untouched Cross is quiet a testament.
Thanks for a great hub.
50 - Thanks for the amazing testament! Yes, the radiant heat can kill you and make things burst into flames. Many don't realize that, which is why they think they'll be ok if the fire stays on the other side of the road. Thanks for your wonderful and insightful comment :)
Madame X:---Some things are just meant not to be fooled with or trifled!
PeeDee -
Yep!
It's scary, but the last photo is beautiful.
My my my, isn't that unfair of that fire? The fire was acting in a rather politically incorrect manner. Where is the fire's sense of social cohesion and sense of community relations??? (pun okay?)
TONY0724..... I wouldn't worry about the ACLU taking the fire to court. Now that they know this cross is there I would be more concerned that the ACLU will go to court to do what the fire failed.... Hope its not on public land!
debugs - Yes, such an un-PC entity. What's the world coming to, and in California no less! I'll tell you, the left coast just isn't what it used to be:)
James - the ACLU - hmmm, how do I loathe thee, let me count the ways. . . Thanks for posting :)
Ah Ha! So you do publish something once and awhile! This is stunning! Every Picture Tells a Story.
Hello James - yes, I publish when I have something to say. I'm not a writer, but a graphic designer by profession so I'm a lot better with pictures than words. I'm glad you came by - this is one I thought you in particular would enjoy :)
Madame X, I thoroughly enjoy this one as well, and I'm not even a Christian! (For those who don't know me yet: No, I'm not a Muslim, either. There really are other options in America--so far, anyway....)
Ghost - Yes, there are other options in America, and there always will be as this miracle says loud and clear - much to the consternation of some . . . Thanks for stopping in :)
Hey God, it's cool, let the fires burn up a bunch of houses and all that property if you must. Just make sure some random cross isn't scorched.
Those pictures are amazing awful yet beautiful as the cross stands. Anyone one of those pictures could tell a story. Very good hub.
Astounding isn't it? There ARE miracles in the world :) Thanks for stopping by Pam :)
What awesome pictures. Gave me the chills..
Thanks ehern. Gave me the chills too :)

What an impressive sight these photos are. It is amazing the cross did not either melt or crumble. Must be made of something sturdier than we know, like someone's praying? Shades of Shadrach and...
