How to make perfume

You can make your own perfume using essential oils. Experiment with a whole range of different fruits and spices using this guide to mix them. Use a glass mixing container and add the drops to them and mix.

For a floral scent try a classic blend such as 15 drops of rose essential oil, add 5 drops vanilla and one drop jasmine. Other nice scents can be made with 10 drops lavender, 4 rose drops and 2 vanilla drops.

You can try mixing a floral scent with a spice such as cinnamon. Or add Peach and Cinnamon for a spice and fruit blend.

Mango peach is popular with teenagers.

spice scent for an exotic blend, try clove and cinnamon. Try 10 each of cinnamon and clove. And add 5 drops of vanilla.

Or you can totally mix it up on your own. I like 5 drops lemon grass 5 drops sweet basil and 5 drops geranium oil to make a beautiful unique garden scent.

To make a perfume you can start from scratch mixing essential oils. Then add the diluent for the perfume. This means adding alcohol. Pure alcohol comes in the form as ethyl alcohol 100 % grain alcohol or 90 proof clear vodka. Select the highest alcohol content with as little odor as you can find.

Always use glass to mix and store. For a traditional perfume, mix 1 part strait essential oil using your blend of fragrance and 4 to 6 parts pure alcohol. The exact amount of alcohol depends on personal preferences. Shake well. This blend will last 1 to 3 years.

For a Natural perfume you can avoid alcohol and use a light oil for the diluent. Use 1 jpart pure essential oil and 4 up to 6 parts sweet almond oil. Shake well before using. Lasts up to 3 years.

You can use grape seed oil, well refined safflower oil, or apricot kernel oil instead of sweet almond oil. Look for a long shelf life and negligible odor.

The mystery and allure of making your own scent is magical and can make you smell unique and elegant. It is even possible to mix your own essential oils. Making them from scratch.
