Making Long Island Iced Tea For A Party
76This is a recipe for making a large batch of Long Island Iced Tea for a party. For those of you who are not familiar with Long Island Iced Tea, it doesn't really contain any tea, but it does taste quite similar to tea. It is actually a very strong alcoholic drink which contains gin, vodka, rum and tequila.
It is an absolutely delicious drink that goes down quickly. Be aware - there is a lot of alcohol in these and it is easy to drink a lot of them. This recipe will make Long Island Iced Tea for a party of twenty five. Of course that depends on how much your guests drink. This recipe is a little different than the regular recipe for single Long Island Iced Tea drinks. It contains more Coke than the original recipe and Sprite is also added.
You will need a very large punch bowel to make this recipe.
Making Long Island Iced Tea For A Party Of Twenty Five
List Of Ingredients:
One liter of Gin
One liter of Vodka
One liter of Rum
One liter of Tequila
One liter of Triple Sec
Two - Two liters of Coke
Two - Two liters of Sprite
One bottle of Sweet and Sour mix
Mix the gin, vodka, rum, tequila and Tripe Sec together in a very large punch bowel. Pour in the bottle of Sweet and Sour mix and stir until blended. Add the liters of Coke and Sprite and gently stir. Serve in glasses filled with ice.
NOTE: The Coke and Sprite should be added when your guests arrive and are ready to start drinking.
I hope you and your guests enjoy this recipe for making Long Island Iced Tea for a party!
Making Long Island Iced Tea For A Party
Here is one more really good alcoholic drink recipe for a party. It is for an Apricot Brandy Slush Drink. It should be made the night before the party since it has to freeze for twenty four hours before being mixed with 7-Up.
This is a delicious partially frozen summer drink. The Apricot Brandy Slush is another drink to beware of - they also go down very easily just like the Long Island Iced Teas.
Apricot Brandy Slush Drinks For A Party
List Of Ingredients:
Eighteen cups of boiling water
3 cups of sugar
Two 12 ounce cans of orange juice
Two 12 ounce cans of lemonade
Two cups of apricot brandy
Three or four - 2 liters of 7-Up
After boiling the water, let it cool for about a half an hour. Add the sugar, orange juice, lemonade and brandy. Mix until well blended. Pour into a container (or split it up into two containers) with a cover and put in the freezer for at least twenty four hours.
When ready to serve, scoop into a glass (about ¾ full) and then add 7-Up to fill the glass up and enjoy. They are so good!! I keep a batch of it in my freezer all summer. When I'm ready for a refreshing drink, I just take it out of the freezer and add the 7-Up.
NOTE: You can substitute the Apricot Brandy for any other type of brandy you like. It is also good with blackberry brandy.

Yes, I think your guests will love it (you will too)!
I love Long Island Iced Tea!!!!!
ReuVera - I love them too - sometimes too much - maybe I should write a hub on how to get over a hangover.
i love long island ice teas. i think i will make yours for my labor day get together, i may have to scale it down though. i am not having that many people over. you know drink resonsibly. : )
Yes, these are so good it is easy to drink too many. I'm sure they will be a big hit at your party.
These are the best drinks to make for any party. Serve a couple of these up and watch the fun start. I do not what it is about that combination that makes the alcohol taste disappear. You should write a HUB about the person who came up with that drink. He must have been a genius.
It is strange that you can't taste the alcohol in these - especially since they are almost all alcohol. Great idea for a hub - thanks!
Your kidding! Long Islands have coke in them? I had no idea. But they do go down fast. They give me heartburn really bad. :( I had to cut myself off from long islands, a long time ago. We had to part ways...there was an incident.
Great hub!
The individual ones just have a splash of Coke in them - mostly for color - but the large party recipe adds quite a bit more. I also have had to cut back on the sweet drinks. Gin and tonics with lots of lime are my latest happy hour drink.
What brand of sweet and sour do you use for your Long Islands? I've found that different brands work better for different drinks. For instance, I prefer Roses for whiskey sours but it seems a bit too strong for margaritas. Also, I am looking forward to making the apricot brandy slush. It sounds like such an intriguing use of brandy!
I have found Mr & Mrs T Sweet & Sour Mix is the best for the long island teas. You are going to love the apricot brandy slush - I always keep a batch in the freezer. It's a great summer drink.
nice information Patti Ann. At least now I know LOL
another great health tip! ;p
Thanks - I think you'll enjoy it!
The Ice Tea, looks like something I could use. I usually try to make different flavors of ice teas especially when I am have a party. Thank you for this lovely addition.
