One of the coolest things about making money on the internetis that there are plenty of other ways you can go about it - for free or for very little money. One of those ways is by reviewing products and making affiliate sales.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of products that you can review and sales online. Here's how it works. A company somewhere needs sales. Since they need to move their products and services, they decide that they will pay a percentage to anyone who can make a sale. Thus, if you can make a sale, you can make a commission. You never have to buy their product, you simply push the person to their site where a purchase is made.
They track your sales because you use an affiliate link, which is a link that's unique to you. It will have your tracking number built into it and that will let the company know that you're the one that sent them the sale.
How To Make Affiliate Sales
If you want to make affiliate sales, there are a lot of ways to do it. My preferred method is by taking your website, and getting it to show up in Google. That usually brings a lot of traffic and that traffic can turn into solid sales.
This process is called SEO and if you can become solid at SEO, you can always make a lot of affiliate sales. Site like HubPages allow you to publish your content there, and you could use their service to promote affiliate products. HubPages is already a really strong site so it will rank well naturally in Google. If you can give it a little boost, it will do even better.

If you want to start making money for free, you can always start a blog on Blogger, or you can create pages on this site - HubPages. On both Blogger and HubPages, you can create reviews of this type for free.
HubPages is already a very strong site in the eyes of Google and placing your reviews here will help them to get traffic. HubPages has tons of tools available that you can use to make affiliate sales, in fact several affiliates programs can be used automatically from your HubPage control panel, including eBay and Amazon's affiliate programs.
If you're new to this whole game of making money online, I would start by finding some cool things to review and placing reviews right here on this site. I can all but guarantee that they will do better here than they would on a new site of your own.
Making money on the internet is honestly one of the funnest things out there and once you learn how to do it you can always make good money. I've really liked the entire process, from learn how to write, to generating revenue. I would highly recommend it!

@Whikat - its not that black and white- acai berry was a pretty obvious scam from day one - but just cause you are selling camera gear doesn't mean you need to own every camera you review - the guys in the magazines dont

Yup, hubpages is definitely great for creating review pages. Google loves them and I have a lot of my pages ranking well in the SERPS.

Thanks for the stretch goal! I will take you up on your challenge to write 100 articles in a month on a website that I own. Although this website is not "aged" it is "indexed". I launched it on 6/25/09. It has the requisite "Privacy" page for Adsense, and 7 posts right now. It gets about 40 page views per day and is making less than a dollar a day with Adsense. I'll get back to you when I achieve my goal.

For the past 5 months, I am studying and researching about the same one - Affiliate Marketing, keyword analysis etc. But I could not find a successful niche in the first 3 months.
Now I have some good niches or profitable keywords in hand. But the problem is that I don't know how to get started even after reading 'Super Affiliate Handbook' written by Rosalind Gardner. Of course, the book is a great resource. But It does not fit for persons like me. Even after understanding a lot of things, I still feel like an absolute newbie.
Without losing hope, I tried with more potential. As a result, i just joined Affilorama as a free member. I am going through the chapters and lessons there. I mainly fail in two things which are closely related to each other - SEO and natural or organic traffic.
I have a blogger blog which ranks 7 in Google search results for a particular keyword. But I know that I am having a rich keyword and an appropriate keyword density than my 6 competitors . But I still don't know why my blog ranks 7th. These things make SEO a tough strategy for me.

As most of us are aware there are far too many websites/blogs out there that are supposedly telling everyone how to make money. The problem is that most of these sites are full of bullshit because they aren’t making any money themselves.
That’s what really gets me, how can they talk about or show other people how to make money when they haven’t got a clue themselves. They are either selling or promoting scams, that they haven’t got a clue about. All they want to do is make some cash of the backs of the suckers out there that think you can make money easily online.
Making money online is a steady learning process from day 1. I have been at it for a couple of years now and my earnings are increasing steadily. Picking the right keywords is paramount to your success. Get it wrong and you will struggle.

Hi Courtney, I was thinking it may be a good idea to guide people to the locations where they can find all these products to promote. I also do not agree with you. I believe it is more honest and safer for your reputation to make sure you know the products and the companies reputations that are selling the products. A good example would be the arcai berry free trial offer scams. Many people got hurt financially because these companies that were selling the product did not have good intentions.
I understand there are investments that have to be made buying products, but if the product is reputable, and you enjoy using it, it is really easy to write your own review and recommend the product.Just a thought.
