There are a few different types of internet marketing that can be used for making money while attending college, I'm going to go over article marketing and PPC (pay per click) strategies and give some quick pros and cons:

Article Marketing - The goal of article marketing is to provide relevant content to a particular niche market. You want to isolate a small piece of an industry, this makes it much easier to market a product to them. This is usually where most beginners start.

Pros:

• It's very cheap, it can even be free!
• Learn how to write great articles quickly, which can be good for school

Cons:

• There is a learning curve
• Need to research relevant content quickly

Pay Per Click (PPC) - This type of advertising is much more direct, you put up text ads, usually with google adsense (the largest PPC ad company) and directly link people to the product you're selling. Each time someone clicks on a link you have to pay. Usually best to do this after you've learned at least the basics of internet marketing.

Pros:

• If you pick a high traffic keyword for your ads you can start to gain a lot of traffic, and potentially money very quickly
• No articles to write

Cons:

• Can get very costly, unless you know what you're doing
• Need to know how to research key words well
