Can it be done?

Last Update: 03/30/2009

There are tons of sites out there that claim to make money on the internet, but most of them require you to buy this ebook, that program, or have this fee for your up/down/sideways line. There are legitimate sources of online income available out there, but where do you start?

***************************Check below for updated programs***************************

What is a good program and what isn't? Should I have to pay to make money? Can I make money WITHOUT an initial investment? Well, to be honest, yes but it is hard. Many people try, but don't know where to start, where to go for resources etc. Adword, and Adsense are great starters, Hubpages of course, Helium for you writers out there. There are investment programs like Prosper.com, Microplace from PayPal, and Sellaband.com. Prosper.com is a great place to both help people and make money. Banks have increasingly high standards for loans, but with Prosper, you can lend your money and reap the interest rewards. There is risk of default of course, but you can help mitigate that by investing small amounts and spreading your risk along different credit criterion. Sellaband.com allows you to "believe" in music artists, by investing in "parts" which are $10.00 each. When the band reaches $50,000.00 they cut an album (you get a copy) and any advertising or cd sales get split between the artist and the "believers". Helium is a good place to write, they even give you topics to choose from and you get a share of revenue generated from the articles. Microplace is a lending forum where you can make microloans to folks in Third World Countries. The interest rates aren't high, but you get a warm fuzzy from helping people. In America $90.00 isn't much, but it'll open a bakery in Tanzenia. Adsense and Adwords, we should all be familiar with.

But do they work? Well to answer this question, I've started The Chris Johnson Project. This blog will chronicle my adventure through these and many more programs, and will show how I used them. I will also ask for input, comments, and ideas from all of you out there. I will not hide any information on what has worked for me and what hasn't. This is a new blog, one which I have just started so the content is a bit sparse, but if you participate with me, this could turn out to be a great resource. I hope to see you there.

UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!! UPDATE!!!!

Just in case you wanted some updated information here it is. I've been a busy bee trying to find companies that will pay you for REAL work, and resources to make money online, and here they are:

THE MOST AWESOME AFFILIATE PROGRAM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my affiliate link for this program. Once you read it, you'll understand why it is so great. I would appreciate it if you sign up under me, it's free and you don't lose any of your own commissions. Let me say that I used to work for a store that sold cell phones, and when some one would come in looking for the newest and hottest phone out there, but were still in a contract, they would either have to wait until their contract was up or pay full price for the phone. New phones come out all the time, and people will do almost anything to get the newest phone, I've seen people drop over $500.00 for a new phone. Or they could go here and trade off their contract. This is why it's so awesome. The tons of people who want out of their current contracts for whatever reason, can get rid of them here. Also, people who would have had to have a security deposit AND buy a phone can get one of the contracts here. They may still need to pay the carrier a deposit if their credit is bad, but at least they save on the phone!

1. Make Money 365 - 2 weeks free and then $27.00 a month for more downloadable, informative, and intense resources than I've ever seen in one spot. This site has it all, even downloadable PLR packages. Try it and if you don't like it, cancle it (bet you won't though)

2. Blogvertise - If you write a blog and want to get paid for it, these guys have advertisers that pay around $10.00 a post. You have to wait 30 days from posting for your money, but I have ALWAYS been paid. Top notch in my book.

3. Spreadshirt - Make shirts, hats, jackets, and....unmentionables. Add your picture or logo or choose from premade designs and sell them.

4. Utest - If you like to play with new programs, this ones for you. Find bugs in new software and get PAID for it. How awesome is that. Plus, you get to tell your friends, "Yeah, I saw that about 6 months ago." when they just got it!

5. Arise - Start your own call center from home. Work as a teleservice rep. and open a virtual corporation, grow your business and hire others if you want.

6. Make Money With The Money You Already Have In Pay Pal - My own invention. It's a $10.00 ebook that shows you how to take advantage of arbitrage rates in Pay Pal's currency exchange. You need to sign up on the Warrior Forum to get this price, but you should sign up anyway if you are looking for money making ideas.

7. Moola.com. A personal favorite of mine. Get paid to play games like rock, paper, scissors, bet on sports games, play poker, buy a ticket in their lottery thing, All these are tons of fun, but they give you a penny to start off with. You wager it against other players in games, you win double what you bet. You can also donate some of what you win to charities like Big Brothers / Big Sisters. And if you loose it all, they give you another penny! The only thing you have to do is sit through the same types of ads you'd see on T.V. anyway for 10 seconds before your game starts. Refer your friends and make more. Be careful though, Moola is very fun, and very addictive! You'll be plesantly surprised how fast that penny adds up.......

8. Amazon Mechanical Turk. You won't get rich by any means but doing menial tasks that computers aren't so good at can get you some extra money.
