Food that is healthy and tasty.

So many times kids come home from school and eat nothing but junk food. Cabinets filled with cookies and chips fill most of the space in the pantry. But can there be a alternative? Is there something out there that kids would love more than the bag of Doritos or Oreo cookies?  It is called a Monkey sandwich. Make this healthy sandwich for a after school snack and have your kids screaming for more.

Preperation

Easy preperation

Monkey sandwiches are very simple to make. Pick out your choice of favorite bread and spread some peanut butter on them. Thinly or thickly slice A half of a banana and place the pieces over the peanut butter. Let your kids help and they will enjoy sticking the banana pieces on. After you have the banana on you can drizzle the honey over it and but together. Eat and enjoy.

Experiment a little

Why not try to experiment a little. You can try toasting the bread or even grill the break in a non stick pan using some butter spray. Grill just like a grilled cheese and have your mouth watering for more. Try different combos with different fruit and see what you and your kids can come up with.  Food can be good and healthy at the same time.

Monkey Sandwich for Breakfast

Instead of using bread try using a frozen waffle. Put the waffle in the toaster and cut it in half.  This adds a fun twist on the sandwich.  Sprinkle a little bit of powder sugar over it and maybe a few strawberries.
