Google Adsense Alternatives

Well I am certainly jumping on THIS bandwagon and

noting a few things about Mr. SunSeven and

his hub -

http://hubpages.com/hub/101-Google-Adsense-Alternatives

PLEASE READ THIS - and pay close attention (for your own good--and sanity--and so you DON'T waste precious time) if you use adsense *like* adverts for your websites.

Sure, it LOOKS good - but after going to several of these *alternatives* - it didn't take me long to see that (at least the ones I *tried* to join) have, ummmm, problems for average Jane/Joe.

For Example - The "Yahoo Publisher Network".

It is in Beta stage - you can't just *sign-up* like you can with Google. You need to be *approved* and from the questions they ask; I highly suspect that if your traffic isn't in the 100,000 page views per day, you won't even get a second glance.

Now, I DO happen to get that many and more page views on some of my sites...but avergare Jane/Joe doesn't so I THINK that Yahoo is going to give this opportunity to about 0.009% websites - IF that many.

They also REALLY want to know if you already HAVE advertising on your site...because if you do - you won't get in.

Another example - "eType USA" - I had never heard of it. (as I have not most of these pay-per-view/click ad sites Mr. SunSeven mentions, so of course it peeked my couriosity) So I went there too - the absolute BEST thing you can get there is a CONTACT US form!! It says and I quote, " To find out more about eType USA's network of premium sites, plus our range of available online advertising opportunities, please contact us using one of the methods below."

SO far - NONE of the list (I am NOT saying there ISN'T one) but so far, I have yet to FIND one that you CAN just sign up for and get going like you can with Google's adsense.

Then there is the OLD CommissionJunction -- several years ago, I was SCAMMED SO BADLY by this company that I was physically ill. I had been running a campaign that had cost me several hundred dollars; never mind that - I spent HOURS into the 100's building pages around this particular ad.

The company owed me over 6 thousand dollars and I was eagerly awaiting my next check!! Guess what!? - the companies that advertise WITH CJ are set up so that Commission Junction is NOT Responsible if they don't PAY!!!!

Let me say that again - the companies that advertise WITH CJ are set up so that Commission Junction is NOT Responsible if they don't PAY!!!!

I fought/talked/argued/threatened until I was in tears; while they assured me they were DONE with this company..blaa blaa blaaa; I simply got the major shaft...I had to give it up for my own sanity...then to just really grind salt into my wounds...a few months later, I dumbly limped back into commission junction to *look around* - what did I find?

The SAME company CJ had told me had gone bankrupt - that was gone forever - that they would NEVER have anything to do with again -- WAS BACK THERE ADVERTISING!!!

I firmly believe today that CJ and that company were in it together and just splitting all the money; because if I had made that much in one month - well, just imagine if you added up all the peole who advertised for them!

(RANT OVER) - BEWARE!!! I posted about this mess in that year to every marketing forum I could FIND. Please beware of CJ. They are SLIME.

And what does CLICKBANK have to do with it? I am puzzled by this one maybe the most. Last I checked (umm today around 3 p.m. CST) Clickbank was a merchant account that uses affiliate marketing as its network type. Which is why a lot of people, (like me) use it for some services - because you get affiliates selling your stuff or service for you for a commission -- which is not NEARLY the same thing at all as Adsense.

I hope one day soon, Mr. SunSeven is right. That would be great...but for now it sure does not look that way to me.

I am going to hub about my own marketing sense on the web - I certainly have enough experience after having been at it for over 15 years. I do indeed have a lot of knowledge in this area -- so -- why not share it with you...?

Melanie

YEP - wanted - I WANT that 6 Thousand Dollars

...but I know I am never going to get it......

Here is the reply I got from Yahoo - so their ad revenue program isn't even available yet AT ALL.

"Dear Melanie, Thank you for your interest in the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program. This is to confirm that your information will be stored in our database and be considered for the beta program. Sincerely, Yahoo! Publisher Network"

Sunseven neglected to mention that...

Thanks for this - I use CJ but have began to pull away from them - I did get a fair bit of revenue but it seems lately that they are having problems getting paid and therefore I am not getting paid! I'm staying for now out of loyalty..but may change that!
