Male laser hair removal is a growing industry. With growing pressure to become metrosexual and lose all things that make men men, a growing number of men have been abandoning the very foundation of manliness - our hairy bodies. Some think that this shift is very good and other think that it is bad. I will not discuss what I think about the discussion* but instead want to give some easy to follow instructions on how to get a favorable laser treatment experience.

*You see, everyone wants to look good and I think that there are times and places for cultural battles to take place on what makes someone beautiful, desirable, or handsome.  Now is not the time or the place.

Laser hair treatment is a process of hair removal that destroys hair follicles by burning them out of the skin.  The laser is super hot, but not so hot that it burns the skin or causes damage to a person's body, and it scorches the hair follicles in the very pore where it resides.  This hair in then inhibited from grow very quickly - giving the appearance of hairlessness for some time after treatment.

Of all the methods developed of removing hair, laser hair removal is by far the best and most effective.  This effectiveness is reflected in the cost of laser hair removal - it is not cheap in the least.

Here are several tips for those men interested in getting laser hair removal treatments:

  1. Only get a laser hair treatment because it is what you want to do. You shouldn't be getting this expensive procedure done just because some else wants you to. If should come from a place of rest and peace inside of yourself. If you can't be at peace with the way you look and still get some laser hair treatment because you want to please someone else then you should not get the treatment, in my opinion.
  2. Its better to become at peace with the way your body looks now than it is to conform to some standard of beauty. You only have one body, love it the way that it is. No other person in the world has hair where you have hair or looks the way that you look. This is a great advantage to you and should not be something that you run away from. So what if people don't "like" body hair. What does that mean, anyway? It is just a social preference that they are forcing down you neck. Your better off telling them to go jump off a bridge - you will save everyone a lot of time.
  3. Read up on lots of different clinics in your area. Before you make your final decision I recommend reading up on a lot of the different clinics in your area. If you live in a major metropolitan area like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, Charlotte, or Boston then you will have many different clinics to choose from. This choice will work out in your favor if you find the best one to choose from.
  4. Visit the place and ask a lot of questions before committing to a treatment. Get inside the doors and see what the place is like. Talk to the staff and get a feel for the environment there. Ask questions about the particular procedure you have having done (for example, if if you are getting laser hair removal on your back ask about how many treatments they think it will take to remove all your hair).
  5. Check with your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough for male laser hair removal. Some patients should not get this type of procedure done so make sure that you are physically able to endure the treatments before committing to do them.
  6. Pull the trigger and get 'er done. Now that you have your doctors okay and have found a place that is very good and has a great atmosphere you should go and get your hair removed.

Male laser hair removal is a simple procedure that should be over in a relatively short amount of time. Recovery should be minimal and the hairlessness you experience should be great.
