Mallika emerges as the 'Queen of Cameos'

Bollywood's undisputed sex icon, Mallika Sherawat's name has become synonymous with the title of 'Queen of Cameos' after she did three cameos this year. However, in no way did these cameos stop her from hogging the limelight. Her roles did not fall in the blink-and-you miss category and she continued to be the point of dicussion among audiences,as well as the industry. Brand Mallika, who's 'oomph' factor was used to the fullest by film-makers to promote thier movies, not only gained enough publicty for herself, but also laughed all the way to the bank for those special appearances.

The sultry actress got her due five minutes of fame earlier this year, when she bellydanced her way to Turkish tunes in Guru. The song is still a chartbuster. Bollywood audiences then found her dancing to the evergreen Helen number 'Mehbooba O Mehbooba' in Aap Ka Suroor. Mallika managed to steal the thunder from the protagonist of the film so much so that whatever recognition the film got was due to her. Her last cameo this year was in multi-starrer Welcome, which saw her getting promoted just like other actors in the movie. Infact it was Mallika who wanted her promos to be off-air as she felt a cameo shouldnt be promoted. The moral of the story is that Bollywood can love her or hate her, but it certainly can't do without her.
