67The Elliptical is My Friend
I have been working to lose weight since February 1st. It has been a long hard road but I have finally gotten to where I like working out. My favorite machine is the Elliptical machine. I can burn a ton of calories and it has helped to lose the majority of the 55 pounds i have lost so far.
When i first started working out in February I could not even use the elliptical for five minutes without feeling like i was dying. But it finally got to where i needed to use the elliptical to burn enough calories to lose more weight. So i finally made myself get on and use it for at least ten minutes. It was extremely hard but i did it!!!
After doing it for ten minutes i slowly began working to do the elliptical for at least 20 to 30 minutes a workout. I have now built up my endurance and can use the elliptical for 45 minutes at a time. this is an amazing accomplishment to me and I have worked hard to be in the shape i am. I started at 299 pounds and now weigh 245. The machine i used to hate has now become my friend.
Calories Burned on the Elliptical
Since I still have a good deal to lose to reach my goal I can still burn a great amount of calories on the elliptical machine. I have found that I can burn up to 800 for a forty five minute workout.
When using the elliptical machine, make sure you enter your weight as this will give you a better average of how many calories you are burning. I like to watch my time on the machine for one minute and see how many calories i can burn in one minute. I try to burn at least 20 per minute so i get 100 in a five minute time range. this way i can do a short 20 minute work out and still burn 400 calories. I also drink water every five minutes so it gives me something to look forward to! this has helped tremendously!
