Man arrested for being in possession of CASH!
63Yes, it's finally happened, having cash is considered an offence and is now illegal!
The Daily Mirror carried a story today about a man stopped at Belfast airport with £40,000 in cash in a pillow case. The man in question, one Richard Ferguson, said he was carrying the cash to ‘avoid hassle'. We can certainly understand that.
Mr Ferguson also had £140,000 secreted under the floor of his home and he said the money was ‘not suspicous'. Mr Ferguson had sold a home in Spain and the cash was the resulting profit.
In fact, the prosecuting lawyer was the one who confirmed that the money came from the house sale in Spain, as though making money on a property deal was somehow illegal.
Mr Ferguson was charged with concealing criminal property and refused bail because he charged the money from Euros in Sterling as and when he needed it. So it's now illegal for him to spend the money he made in a property deal in Spain.
Richard Ferguson was arrested because he didn't declare his profit and give the UK government their share. Rather upset that he tried to keep the proceeds all to himself, they have had the man thrown in jail. Isn't this incredible?
Now, the government can take away your freedom and deny you access to money your work, investments or ingenuity have earned you. What a wonder it is to live in a free society.
Many people will have read that story and assumed the man was guilty of some heinous crime just because he had a significant amount of cash in his home. Remember however, stories told of previous generations who didn't trust banks and governments and hid money in mattress or in holes in the wall.
This is not a new phenomena, and we should give it credence. Don't just assume the propaganda peddled by a media that has been bought and paid for, don't assume that we all are shackled to the government and have trust and faith in the honour and decency of its offices and officers.
Some people are awake, are using their time and inteligence to question the right of HM Government to take over 60% of their wage in both overt and stealth taxes. Some people question the right of banks to charge them for having an account, using same account and transfering funds into and out of that account. (Isn't that what's it's for?).
