Marantz SR8001 THX Receiver Review

Marantz SR8500's heir, the latest SR8001 THX Select2 surround receiver packs even more innovative features into its copper-plated chassis than its predecessor.

The SR800 sits directly below Marantz's flagship SR9600 in the the current model line-up, however you could buy two SR8001s for the equivalent price.

My opinion is that the SR8001 produces observably greater quality sound than its predecessor. Movies were just as comforting an experience. The Marantz has it where it matters: the power to reproduce detailed and accurate sound. Along with the flexibility to send HDMI signals from four sources into two dissimilar displays, the Audyssey calibration and EQ capabilities, and audio to three separate zones the SR8001 may anchor many a happy home theater fans.
