When it comes to establishing a place for the TV, stereo, DVD player, and other such amenities, most of us use the traditional home entertainment center. However, a lot of these entertainment centers are very poorly made, and only have a functional, non-aesthetic side to them.

Designer Maria Yee decided that this tradition is not good enough, and has created furniture with class in mind, and has recently put her works out at Best Buy.

Maria Yee’s designs are made with a patented alternative to hardwood known as BambooTimbre. The method of crafting her designs, ExclusiveJoinery, is also patented. ExclusiveJoinery uses the longitudinal fibers of the bamboo wood to create a structure that dovetails together without the use of screws or anything else. Not only does ExclusiveJoinery make this equipment quite easy to install and put together, but it also creates a clean, strong structure that is durable to cracking, splitting, and rattling.

One of the requirements of complex electronic equipment is ventilation, and Maria Yee’s design accommodates that well. The openings as well as removable back panels help channel cool air in and hot air out. Yee’s designs also have a unique vibration control that insures that heavy bass sound will not rattle the glass, shake the stand, or distort the sound. The CD and DVD organizer drawers are also designed not to jar any of the contents nor the electronics in closing.

Not only are Maria Yee’s designs practical, but they are beneficial for the environment. Her factory uses the latest technology to make the most of bamboo, which reduces waste and contributes to the economy and ecology. The factory also uses hydronic radiant heating, which is a renewable and efficient resource. Scrap materials and waste are reused for fuel and then recycled. All equipment is low-emission producing, and the cellulose based finishes are all green friendly.

The Maria Yee TV Stand for TVs Up to 60” uses stylish Ghinmu wood design and lacquer finish blends elegantly with home décor and features six durable shelves for storage of up to six A/V components.
