Okay, now that I got that out of the way I can breath and relax. I did not mean to get off topic. But the sooner people realize that there is no cure for acne the better. And the sooner people stop buying scam products the faster they scam artist go out of business.

I have been using skin care products by Mario Badescu for the past year. I've had good results, mixed results, and some no results. This is true for everyone who uses skin care products, everyone will have different results.

To begin I always follow a strict skin care regiment that I always adhere to my schedule. If you haven't done so already you should start one too. And be consistent no matter how you may feel. The end results is worth it.

I use a combination of skin care products from Mario Badescu. For the Anti Acne Serum I mostly apply it before I apply on their Drying Lotion. You can basically apply it anytime when you see that your face is on the verge of an outbreak. But that's just my skin care plan and yours may or may not be different.

My forehead is most prone to acne because I have oily skin and that's where most of my acne problem is situated. I do not have cystic acne, but from the other reviews I've read about, it seems that the Mario Badescu Anti Acne Serum is effective in treating and preventing cystic acne as well.

I also apply the serum on my face whenever I notice my skin is becoming too oily. I find that afterwards the Anti Acne Serum is very effective in preventing a breakout. This is due to the fact that the Anti Acne Serum is suitable for combination and oily skin types. Because normally when I do see a lot of oil around my t-zone I freak out and that's when I get a breakout (maybe worrying about acne causes acne hmmmm). The heat and humidity in Florida during the summer is not helpful either and very conducive to acne growth. Eating a lot of pizza doesn't help either I guess, but it taste so good.

The serum is gel based with the main ingredient Salicylic Acid. Salicylic Acid is plant based and very effective in sloughing off dead skin cells. It's not a hard ingredient as it is sensitive enough for most skin types. There's no burning sensation for me, but I've had a friend mention she felt a slight irritation. However, she does complains about everything.

I've used many products with Salicylic Acid ingredient before, but for some reason Mario Badescu's version gives me the best results. I saw my results within the first week to second week. My skin is noticeably clearer and my breakouts were greatly reduced.

I like the fact that the serum is gel based as I am able to easily apply a thin layer without getting all gooped up giving me heavy feeling on my face. So its not necessary to overdo it.

Here are the full ingredients: Deionized Water, Glycerin, Thyme Extract, Isopropyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Triethanolamine.

This product is suitable for oily and combination skin types. The ingredients are all natural with just a hint of preservatives for prolonging shelf life.

1. Morning and Night Cleansing Routine

Start by cleansing your skin twice daily, make sure you choose a type of cleanser suitable for your skin. The best time to give your skin the most attention is right before bedtime. Most people don't know but our skin is a 24 hour machine that is always working. Just like a well tuned factory your body excretes toxins and oils. If you combine all the gunk with unclean clogged facial skin then you're going to wake up looking like your face was hit with a meat mallet. Use a skin scrubber when you shower because it is very effective in removing dead skin cells.

2. Exercise

Oh yes, you've heard of it and you may hate it, but it's very necessary. Now you might think that sweating is part of the reason why you have acne breakouts. I use to think that as well but I know better now. Our skin is full of sweat glands that may get clogged with dirt. So think of sweating as the process of purging all of the dirt out of your pores. Here's the biggest tip: If you can exercise indoors or at nice leafy green park away from the highways or construction sites, you will avoid all the nasty pore clogging stuff floating around. This way you will not get pollutants sticking onto your skin and settling back into your pores, exasperating your acne problem. Oh by the way, a great time to cleanse your face is right after a vigorous workout.

3. Sunlight

Not only can you get a healthy dose of Vitamin D in ten minutes, Mr. Sunshine is known to help heal psoriasis, acne, and eczema. But do not overdo it obviously. So please use a bit of common sense.

4. Water

Drink water even if you do not feel thirsty. Sometimes our body gets delayed in letting our brain know we are thirsty. Today I hear some doctors say it is not necessary to drink 8 glasses of water. My opinion is to drink enough water until your urine is clear. As long as you are healthy it is a good indication that you are adequately hydrated. Drinking clean water never hurt anyone and its great for your skin.

5. Sleep, Oh Glorious Sleep

Who doesn't like sleep. Your acne that's who. Sleep reduces stress, a major cause of acne. Also plenty of sleep makes the skin on your face look a whole lot better. So switch off the late night TV and try to get at least 8 hours and your skin will thank you by looking wonderful in the morning!
