Mario Kart Wii With Wii Wheel

Wow! I just had to take a moment and write about the coolest game EVER! I just got Mario Kart for the Wii, you know the one I mean, the one that comes with a steering wheel (I even got a pink cover for it!). As many of you already know about me I am an adrenaline junkie and this game is SO addictive I had to tear myself away from it just to write this!

The game starts out pretty easy, you get to pick your character (of course I am Baby Peach)! Then you pick your car style, there are karts and bikes, after that you get to customize it further with three options at first and a fourth one opens later. Then you get to pick your track and more of these open as well as you go. A map is displayed on the right hand side of the screen while you are going through to let you know where you are vs everyone else.

Nintendo has been known for quite a while for how interactive it’s Wii system is.  I think the only group that dislikes the Wii would be Washington Internship Institute since Wii used to be known as their acronym and now no one even thinks of them when they hear WII.  The hardest part was finding it in stock.  It seems that no one can keep these things on the shelves, and it seems like the times I did find it on a shelf it was because there was no way anyone would consider it the “best price” even though it was marked as such.  Personally I prefer to go online to EBay or Amazon rather than go to the stores like WalMart, Target, GameStop, or EB Games.  I know that it will be in stock and I will get the best price, and we all know I like things quick and easy, just open a couple of screens to check before you put it in your cart!

Now while I know I will never be good enough in real life karting to enter the Karters of America Racing Triad in real life, I can get my heart racing by going online and playing multiplayer with up to 12 guys and kick their ass! Once you learn how to manage the kart (and there are a few tricks) you can really start to push yourself. A couple of the tricks to watch is to keep an eye on the wheels/tires and rims as you are turning, they will glow and if you hit the gas just right you get an extra boost.

Not only are you concentrating on the track, but you also have to worry about a little game of cat and mouse that is going on with the cubes that are run over and are either boots or attacks. With a boost you can propel yourself faster like a nitrous boost. Or you can throw shells, banana peels, shrink opponents or even ink them where they can’t see the screen just to name a few.

The courses are great too! One you are in fields where you have to dodge cows, another you have to dodge the 18 wheelers or you get flattened, or dropping off cliffs, etc. I don’t know how the designers come up with all the parts and components of these games do it. I wish I could think of all the crazy things they come up. It is so hard to believe how far they have come from the days of Mario 64, and yes I thought they were the bomb then!

Overall I have to say that if you are looking for a game to get lost in, and escape from the drag of a “regular” video game, Nintendo Wii Mario Kart with Wii wheel is an absolute must have.
