Marisa Miller was born Marisa Bertetta in Santa Cruz, California in August, 1978. She has two sisters and attended school in Watsonville, California where she became well known as a star volleyball player and she was also a keen and expert surfer on the local beaches. Her first venture into modeling came when she was just 16 and she was noticed walking into a San Francisco café by two modeling agents from Italy.
Within a few weeks she and her mother were in Italy to discuss a contract. She was duly signed up and rapidly became a favorite model in men's magazines. It was while at the very top of her new profession that she was spotted on Manhattan beach and persuaded to to enter the high profile world of mainstream glamour modeling.
