Maruti Suzuki Splash - Small yet powerful

The introduction of swift was really a bold movement by Maruti Suzuki by changing the concept of a small hatch back. A hatch back means generally a small low cost car with just the power to move. Swift was such a monster which made even some sedan's face down.

After the superhit from India's favourite small car manufacturer, here comes another one, Suzuki Splash. The car is yet to be released, hopefully by july this year ( 2008 ). Since the announcement, it has became one of the most awaited cars in 2008. Complete specifications are yet to be out, but I am trying to make a preview for all car lovers.

Engine :

There will be two fuel versions, petrol and diesel

Petrol version will have two engine variants

• 1.0 L 65 PS 84Nm
• 1.2 L 86 PS 114Nm

Diesel will share the same multijet engine from swift which is 1.2 L 75 PS

Class of the car :

Being among various products from Maruti Suzuki, Splash is expected to be launched in a segment between Wagon R and Swift.

Design and Interiors :

Suzuki has again done a bold design in Splash too like Swift. Its looks a little less in glamour than swift, but yet competitive with others. Interiors are just amazing which shares the design of SX 4. On the inside, you will notice the parts-sharing that Maruti has mastered now. The dash and the centre console shouts SX4 and Swift at its loudest. The rev counter placed on the dashboard is interesting though.
