Chances are you already appreciate the pure, delicious flavor of Masala Chai (Tea). Well, here are some easy-to-prepare Masala Chai recipe. Ten Blogger thinks, it will raise your appreciation to a new, tasty level.
Masala Chai Ingredients : (serves 2 or 3 People)
2 cinnamon sticks, broken
2 whole cardamom pods
3 whole black peppers
6 whole cloves
2 chunk ginger
1 cup water
6 tsp tea leaves (or 4 Tea Bags. I prefer Tetley Classic Blend Tea bags)
2 cup milk
2 tbsp Sugar (or according to taste)
Optional Items : cream to taste , 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
How to make Masala Chai
Method :
In a spice mill or coffee grinder, coarsely grind the spices (cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, cloves). Mix in ginger.
Now, Bring 1 cup of water to the boil in a pot. Add tea leaves / bags. Add the spices and boil for another 5 mins. Add milk, bring to boil. Now add sugar and then simmer for another 5 mins. (Good things take time.). Filter the tea into the cup.
You are all set to enjoy the Hot Masala Chai with the family or special someone. Tea should be served hot.
Enjoy it with your favorite cookie or cracker.

Yes.we use real ginger root.. this is how Masala tea is made in India. You can probably try it at some Indian Restaurants. Cardmom Pod is actually a whole cardmom (not already powdered.. I added picture for you.
I love Masala Chai. I have purchased some from a tea importing company on line that is from India and it is wonderful. Just add milk and sweetener and you have it. I am going to save your recipe and try it from scratch myself here one day when I can find the ingredients. Can't get the cardamom pods here at all. Thanks very much Ten Blogger.

Thanks for the information on Indian stores in Texas Ten Blogger, that was much appreciated. I am still about 2 1/2 hours drive from the nearest one but next time I am in Dallas will definitely stop in and get some.
I loved regular chai tea, and a friend from work made some of this masala tea and she let me try some. It was soo good. the stuff you buy at starbucks doesnt even compare!
