Master Cleanse End of Day 2

Well, here I am at the end of day 2 of the Master Cleanse. Again I am shocked at the fact that I have yet to be truly hungry. If it weren't for my daughter I really don't think I would even be tempted. The salt water flush went much better today as well (and yes there were results today!).

Lets see today I am starting to get into a routine with this, setting up the lemon's the day before, measuring my portions a little better, figuring out how much cheyenne I can handle, things like that. For anyone who is wondering, the "lemonade" is made using 8oz of water, half a lemon (freshly squeezed), 2 tablespoons of Grade B maple syrup, and a dash of cheyenne pepper (the more pepper you can do the better within reason, and it has to be mixed).

The purpose of the "lemonade" is that it provides you with the nutrients you need to maintain your health through the fast. It also helps to remove the plaque and build up throughout the digestive track so when you do the salt water flush it will flush it out. This lemonade really tastes pretty good, which surprised me as well. I thought it would taste very bad, but it is something that I really could see myself drinking whether I was on the cleanse or not.

The flush is needed because it literally flushes out the toxins that are being released from your intestines, along with parasites (yes we all have them and yes it is gross to think about) that will die by the 7th day. Due to this, it is something you have to work through to get the best results from the Master Cleanse. The salt water is not absorbed by your body (hence why drinking sea water will not hydrate you), and the weight of the salt in the water pushes it through your system basically using gravity to cleanse the entire track.

If you can't do it, you can't do it, but I am the wimpiest person I know when it comes to the taste of things and I have been able to get through it. Granted, I use a straw to do so, but it works!

My hardest thing to deal with is when I make Caroline food (I am NOT putting a 2 year old on the master cleanse diet!) and seeing her food and smelling it as I cook is a large temptation, not because I am hungry but because I am just used to doing it.

Overall, today I actually saw results from the flush (I won't get into details for the obvious reasons), but if you are going to get the thing down, you really want to see results! And I really wasn't hungry at all. This really has not been as bad as I thought it would be so far, fingers crossed!

Remember while your diet on the cleanse consists of only lemons, maple syrup and water, this is NOT a diet plan. The ramifications of using it as a "diet" and not a full system reset/detox is that you WILL gain more weight back than you lose. As a detox program I think it is WONDERFUL, but as a diet to just lose weight this is NOT a good idea :)
