Mavrovo????

Mavrovo is one of the most beautifull places especially in winter in Republic of Macedonia.

Mavrovo.... Municipality that is located in west part of Republic of Macedonia. The biggest part of the local inhabitats is living around valley of river Radika and around itwatercourses.The most biographical natural sanctuary with keeping endemic species of ultimately rich and different flore and fauna. On teritory of Mavrovo are located several different natural areas that are rich with cultural heritage. Let's mention national park Mavrovo with rich flora and fauna, cannion of river Radika, Mavrovo Lake, Church in the water "St. Nikola", monastry "St. Jovan Bigorski", Galicnik with very famous Galicnik wedding, bridge Elen Skok...

National park Mavrovo is 73 000 acres. The flora in National Park Mavrovo is mosaic od different flora elements. In its boundaries are located 12 very rare native species as well as 33 different plants. The fauna is represented with 12 different amphibias, 12 different reptiles, 140 birds , 38 mammals etc...

Mavrovo Lake is the pearl in the National Park. Beside the fact that it is artificial lake, it can take your breath away. Around the lake is the asphalt road that is connection the main road with snow roads, the hotels and the rest of turist orgaizations.

Monastry "St. Jovan Bigorski" is located near village Rostushe is one of the most beautifull monastries on the Balkan peninsula. The iconostasis of hand made wood fugires is made between the period of 1829 and 1835 from two brothers from village Gari.

Church in water "St. Nikola" is being built in 1857 in area of Mavrovo. The church is drowned in the water in 1957 with consturction of Hidrosystem Mavrovo.
