Maxwell was born in 1973 and is from a mixed background which is (Puerto Rican and West Indian). He is also a very religious person. He began singing in the Baptist church and at the age of 17 new music would be his career. In 1996, Maxwell released Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite and now in 2009 he has just released his latest album Blacksummers'night.
