Amazing Sunsets

Mazatlan, Mexico is my favorite place to be. The beaches are amazing, the people are wonderful, and it's a relaxing yet exciting place to be.

There is so much to do in Mazatlan. From the courageous cliff divers to El Faro (The Lighthouse) to the historic Immaculate Conception Cathedral, you need to set aside plenty of time for sightseeing while being sure to carve out some time to simply enjoy the ocean.

Beachcombing is wonderful in Mazatlan. We brought home bags of beautiful, tiny shells. Many of the beaches, especially to the north of the "Golden Zone" are practically deserted.

Stone Island is a MUST SEE destination. Take a water taxi over to this interesting peninsula and talk to boys draped in huge green iguanas who will let you hold them for a tip. Take a ride on a yellow Banana Boat but be prepared to get dumped! Ride horses on the beach, rent ATV's, or simply lay in a hammock under a palapa and sip a cool drink while watching the waves. There are open air restaurants galore with excellent service and fabulous food. We enjoyed talking with the beach vendors who are always available to "make a deal!"

Hotels, condos, timeshares and private villas are all availble to rent in Mazatlan. Depending on your preference, you will be able to find just the right accommodations for your family...and Mazatlan is a GREAT family destination.

My Top Ten Recommendations:

1: Stone Island

2: Beachcombing

3: Ride Ginger's Bilingual Horses at Playa Bruja

4: Watch the sunset

5: Talk to the locals

6: Visit the Cathedral

7: SHOP! And BARGAIN!

8: Cruise the Mercado and look for fresh pig heads

9: Visit the Aquarium

10: Eat. A lot.

I hope you enjoy Mazatlan as much as we do. Be sure to visit my other Mazatlan webpages for more details on specific things to do and places to stay.

Hasta luego!

The best thing to do in Mazatlan is to go to Happy Hour 2 for 1 beer at Joe's Oyster Bar. Just have a few Pacificos and watch the sunset. Then party the night away!
