McCain "Help Me! I'm Melting..."
61Meltdown!!
....melting....
The Confuzed McSpain
It's gettin' foggy out there!!
- he mixed up Sunni and Shia
- Talked about Spain as if they were the adversary
- Talked about Spain as if they were "Latin America"
- Said he would fire the SEC Chairman (not a position subject to firing by the US President)
- repeats lies about Palin's accomplishments, which have been disproved SEVERAL times, by various sources.
- Invented the Blackberry?
- McCain claimed "the surge" was responsible for the "Anbar Awakening" -- which actually began in September, 2006, months before the surge was even announced
- Far from defying his party, McCain has aligned himself with President Bush on major issues. The Washington Post reported on March 6, that White House officials stated that "McCain and Bush are on the same page on the big issues, such as terrorism, Iraq, immigration and taxes." CHANGE?
- (PolitiFact) McCain's offensive to Jews "gaffe" of "likening the Jewish holiday of Purim to Halloween." McCain said at a press conference in Israel later that day that ..."Nine hundred rocket attacks in less than three months, an average of one every one to two hours...Obviously this puts an enormous and hard to understand strain on the people here, especially the children. As they celebrate their version of Halloween here, they are somewhere close to a 15-second warning, which is the amount of time they have from the time the rocket is launched to get to safety. That's not a way for people to live obviously. PolitiFact explained that "other than the use of costumes, there is little similarity between Purim and Halloween..." Further, a rabbi (who spoke to PolitiFact) said the comment exposed McCain as someone who does not understand the meaning and import(ance) of the Jewish holiday."
I guess offending Israel's not a big deal for the American President...so much for our Foreign Affairs expert.
Jim Dandy To The Rescue
Whispering In McCain's Ear
- McCain's statement that Al Qaeda was going back and forth between Iraq and Iran for training, etc. Experts agree that Iran and Al Qaeda are "religions" apart and do not support each other. Islamic Extremists are going back and forth, not Al Qaeda.
(Lieberman to the rescue, ya think he wishes he'd nominated him instead of Palin? naaaa)
I'm not an expert, but I can read, 'course I'm not on the ticket, so that probably doesn't count.
Liar, Liar
Slinging Mud
Did You Know Palin's an Energy Expert?
McCain has recently referred to Palin as an the most knowledgeable person in America on energy.
These people might disagree:
- T. Boone Pickens, Texas Oil and Gas Executive and Icon
- Daniel Kammen, an energy specialist and co-director of the Berkeley Institute of the Environment at UC Berkeley
- Dan Skopec, undersecretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency
- John Balbach, Cleantech managing partner
- STEVE MILLER, Americans for Balanced Energy Choices
- JEFF GOODELL, Author, "Big Coal"
- George W. Bush (Well?)
- Ricarch B. Cheney, current VP of the US, former Halliburton, CEO
- PARIS HILTON
Just to name a few...I didn't know most of them either, but they've been in energy for years, and I doubt they're much impressed with Palin's dab-a-do-ya misquoting Alaska's oil production: (except for Paris, she's known for OTHER KIND of energy, ahem.)
Palin claimed that Alaska "produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy." Sorry, Palin, for the record:
- Alaska did produce 14 percent of all the oil from U.S. wells last year, but that's a far cry from all the "energy" (I'm sure she MEANT oil) produced in the U.S.
- Alaska's portion of domestic energy production was 3.5 percent, according to the official figures kept by the U.S. Energy Information Administration...awwww what do they know?
Well, maybe Palin's word "supply" ,meant all the energy consumed in the U.S., not just produced here, OOps, that would mean that Alaska's production accounted for only 2.4 percent.
Again, I didn't know this stuff either, BUT I CAN READ. Something Palin, evidently doesn't have time to do, being the Governor of the state she was talking about, not to mention, THE VICE PRESIDENT CANDIDATE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
PARIS! PARIS! PARIS!
Oh, I Can't Bear It!
I just can't go on...I'm getting sick...

These are two puppets bouncing around for our entertainment. They aren't making much sense because whomever is pulling their strings doesn't think much of us, so they don't bother rehearsing their puppets or doing fact checking before they layout their dance steps and verbal cheerleading sessions for all the morons who want what they say to be true.
People will believe what they want to believe, whether it is true or not, or even relevant.
God help us.
Thanks MarisueWrites for this list. I'll pass it on!
Oh, there is another possibility.
We're not supposed to vote-in these 2 rocket scientists. We're supposed to vote for the OTHER team.
Or stay home.
Either way, the string pullers get what they want, because they're pulling both sets of strings... on both teams.
Is that a scary thought? It could be that the fix is in. Whoever wins... we don't.
Maybe Ralph Nader is right.
Just vote for BT. Write him in and we'll have the first jackalope president of all time!
All that can be said is OUCH we are in for some rough times!!! Either way I think we are in for rough times... When did the Presidental Election become the lesser of 2 evils? Maybe it is just hard to find good people anymore? (Or better said people who can get backing needed since they aren't putting their hand in everyone's pocket?)
(To explain my comments, I don't feel like Obama is fully upfront so I don't know much about him which scares me, but Palin/McCain are out there and I know I don't like them! Just one person's opinion!)
He is starting to sound like Al Gore.
I'm not from the US so I'm not familiar with the issues involved. But I have seen Palin on Utube, and I' sure that I don't want her to be the VP of the most powerful country on earth - she comes across as somebody with a hidden agenda.
If I have to choose, I would sleep much better if Paris was the VP. :)
Be more fun to just sleep with Paris, but hear you.
Marisue, you are the queen of video selection. Thank God. Because after I got depressed reading your accounting of the BS that surrounds these two Republicans, I got cheered up by Liar, Liar, Jim Dandy. and Dorothy and Friends. That's the way to help us keep our sanity...lay out the dismal facts, then poke snappy holes through the fog. There is more to life than Election 2008. Thumbs up!
I decided from here on out its ALL ABOUT THE FUNNY FARM; besides, can ya digg that fringe on the boots and that long haired dude is H O T!! Jim Dandy!
thanks for reading and I'm glad it cheered you up...Hee Hawwwww! I love political satire, Mark Russell and others...Mort Sahl... they make you mad and laugh at the same time. -- you're right; there IS more to life than this mess ~~ gotta laugh.
Bravo! Right on target. Thanks for using this great Hub to take a stand. But will America continue to be irrational again? To let go of stress please check out my new Hub: Faith,Hope,Light. Sincerely: Gary Eby, author and therapist.
we can all use less stress...I'll check it out...thanks for stopping by!
Human nature hasn't changed much in thousands of years. Remember that it was the masses, lead by their politicians, who demanded the death of Socrates, and about 450 or so years later, of Jesus of Nazareth. We shouldn't expect our masses to act in any way significantly different that the public of all other times.
Interestingly, it was Voltaire, Locke, and Hume who inspired the founding fathers of the American Revolution. In that time, those men were themselves resisting the common laws produced by European societies. These men were not typical, even here in the United States. About 2/3's of their peers would have opposed the creation of the Constitution, had they been able to vote for it directly.
The masses have seldom if ever supported liberal democracy. When given a chance to choose security over liberty, the masses almost always support the former.
Like Voltaire's Candide, perhaps we should merely or purposely, tend our garden. And, one might add, focus on enjoying our own lives.

what remains is voting...everything else is said...
Exactly VOTE Obama or be miserabe another 4 years!
Hi Dj, yep, I think it's the only sensible choice; we're in a huge mess, McCain can barely stay awake and he and Palin keep re-inventing themselves everyday....eeek we can't have that for another 4 years....
interesting Tom!!! thanks for the link...very deep thoughts...
G-ma,you are right, and we have to vote and do our part...it's our griping rights!! thanks always for reading, my friend!! hope you are well...
Hillary Clinton & Sharon Osbourne - That's the ticket!
What McCain/Palin team are you talking about? I have it on good authority that it is now the PALIN/McCain team- Shewhomustnotbenamed said so herself yesterday in I believe it was Michigan...
So, here's something you can do. I just went to Borders to buy the Fareed Zakaria book mentioned in my banning books Hub. I was appalled to see the front tables covered with photos of Palin. I shifted things around a bit... and so can you!!!
And instead of FZ's book, I bought Obamanomics by the most illustrious John R. Talbott, the guy who wrote "The Coming Crash in the Housing Market." After I read it I'm thinking I might write a Hub on it. Guess I'd better get started... unless someone else read it and wrote a Hub???
Thanks for refreshing my memory, marisue. I was pretty sad to see how Alzheimer-ish McCain looked yesterday, stumbling and bumbling as he grasped for concepts and even for words. It is tough getting old. Humbling if you aren't in denial.
Hi patty a wonderful idea!! We will be wise and entertained at the same time!! always glad when you stop by --- thank you!!!
Storyteller -- I'll go soon to a booksamillion and a b&N nearby...today, McCain said he'd fire the FEC instead of the SEC...the poor man is truly melting and it's sad...he may have Alzheimer, not funny, but not safe for the US either. We can't elect this team...they both are a disaster!! Even someone for them cannot defend these comments unless they are deaf and blind...and I won't say the other word. =))
I saw the author of Obamanomics tonight on Hardball and it sounds like a great book. Perhaps a book club?
McCain reminds me of Chicken Little when he yells, "change is coming, change is coming." I hope he's right and that he will go packing to vacation in one of his seven homes.
One could hope, can't one?
One of the troubling things is that no supporter of McCain will be swayed by truth, logic or the American way. People who like him for his policies are not going to wake up one day and tell themselves - Gee! I could have had a V-8!
Instead, they are going to change the channel when Obama comes on, will continue to watch Faux News and believe Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity when they lie and trash anyone who doesn't fit into their narrow view. They will continue to think Ann Coulter is funny and speaks with the wisdom of angels.
You see, people who fervently back McCain are afraid that people anywhere to their left are Communists, Tax and Spenders, Socialists and many other "evil" creatures they have been carefully taught to hate and distrust. They have made up their minds, so don't confuse them with facts, logic or truth.
Many are blind to the fact that under the Bush administration Republicans are now being called the "Borrow and Spend" or "Spend and Debt" party. They want to believe they are the Party of Lincoln, even though if he were alive today Lincoln would not be a Republican. They also forget that Republicans dumped Lincoln in 1864 and he ran as a National Union Party candidate.
There are many inconsistencies in the Repubican Party these days. John McCain is only one symptom of a party gone Lemming. How soon before they rush to the sea and drown? Not soon eneough, I fear.
Hi Susan, I'm going to have to get that book!!
It's sad in ways for us and McCain, he obviously is not in possession of his full faculties...he just misspeaks too many times; Spain - Latin America? SEC/FEC? the list never ends? it's getting worse...what's next? a stroke? in the white house with Palin standing there "ready" to serve?
We've got trouble!! I can't even bear to hear Madame Librarian's shrill voice!!
You're right Chef Jeff, people are stretching their necks out to say McCain's qualified...I have relatives who think Obama's a muslim and when you talk about it...they mentally "check out." They don't want to hear that McCain's slipping cognitively or that Palin is full of untruths. They'd vote for 4 more years of the same and they have convinced themselves that times are good and the emperor is fully clothed.
I just can't believe it.
America voted for Bush - not once, but twice. She deserves the eight years she got of him. Given what's on the table, I wonder how she will choose this time.
well call me paranoid..but there is a school of thought that he stole it the 2nd time and was appointed the first....while we slept!! we let this happen thru inattention....aren't we in a huge mess??? It's no accident, America, wake up!!
America really doesn't need another befuddled and confused man at its helm.
Well, we in the rest of the world can only sit back and watch and hope; and wonder at how it happened before... marisue, I'm slightly comforted by your explanation of this (above this comment), but really hope that much more attention is being paid this time!
As the US president has such an impact on the rest of the world as well as in the US, I really wish that we could vote too!
Great hub!
thank you moon daisy...I appreciate your remarks and am always glad to hear what people in other countries think!! We, the people, are very concerned about what direction our country is going. come back soon!! =))

There is nothing left to say, you said it all and so clearly laid out! Thanks.
If there are any undecided voters left, please think about what is here. Remember your civics lessons and think about what is best for the country. Let's not saddle the young people with McSame and the gang.
