The globally popular television show entitled McLeods Daughters was set in rural South Australia, but appealed to people from all over the world.

It ran for 8 gripping seasons, and spawned a multitude of websites from dedicated fans the world over.

The TV show was developed, after the made-for-TV movie was an unexpected major hit, but with a new cast.

The story of the TV show begins with two half sisters (Tess McLeod and Claire McLeod), coming to grips with two major things, the death of their shared father (Jack McLeod), and how to move forward with running the cattle/sheep station that they inherited jointly. The show then explores from there their lives, love-lives (of course!) and the day to day running of their station, entitled Drovers Run.

Drovers Run itself is a small hobby farm called "Kingsford" about an hours drive north of Adelaide, near the small town of Gawler. It's no coincedence that the 'small town' near Drovers Run in the series is called "Gungellan". The property "Kingsford" was recently sold by auction, after the series finally closed it's doors after 8 successful seasons.

The universal appeal of the show can be put down to many things. For one, this was not a glamourfest. The cast members, though all good looking women, were constantly either mud-caked, sweaty faced, covered in horse hair, cattle hair or other miscellaneous substances related to daily life on the farm. The viewers loved this realistic part of the show, its' as though it was okay to not look your best *all* the time, and still be loved for who you are. It was okay to drive a beat up car, because after all who needs a BMW in the outback?

These characters were genuine people, and brought to life brilliantly by an inspiring cast.
