Medi-Cal Dog Food Ingredients Review
Oh my gosh! Who are they kidding with this mess?
Let's take a look at these ingredients. (Hold on to your hat - this is going to hurt!)
Corn is a cheap filler used by pet food companies to reduce production costs.
We should probably take time out from this review to remind ourselves of the good and bad effects of corn in a cat or dog's diet. *Corn, wheat and soy are responsible for fever, ear aches, ear infections, bad breath, dental disease, hair loss, dry and itchy skin, bloat, tumors, warts, moles, abnormal nail growth, arthritis, deafness, blindness, digestive problems, siezures, inflamed liver, inflamed kidneys, bladder problems, heart problems, and death. Oh yeah, for the good effects of corn - reduces the cost of pet food production.
Brewer's rice and brewer's dried yeast are by-products of beer production. There you go, your dog gets what's left over after a beer run, the stuff not fit for human consumption.
Animal digest. How about that ... Manure. This is special manure, from a lamb AAFCO doesn't care that manure is included in the pet food as long as the temperature at the time of cooking is brought to a certain degree. Now there are those people out there who simply refuse to believe Medi- Cal would use manure in their pet's foods. Let me ask you to think on this issue for just a minute and then see what you decide. Let's take a person, for instance, When a person begins the "digestion" process food is placed in the mouth for chewing. Digestion continues as the food passes to the stomach and is broken down to pass into the intestines for futher digestion. Digestion is complete once the person has had a bowl movement and fully evacuated the food from the human body. Why would obtaining human digest be any different from animal digest?
Anytime I see a Class Action filed against a company and the products the company produces I would not advise feeding their products to your pets. The pet owners have filed a Class Action against the company for killing their pets.
