American Patients Save on Dentistry While Vacationing in Cabo, Plus Free Hotel or Air From the USA!

Cabo - New Dental Tourism Hotspot For Both The Mexican Dentist & Dental Vacationer

Over the past several decades, 1,000's of American patients would endure the often long lines at US/Mexican border crossings every year to save money on their dental treatments. On a bad day, the Tijuana crossing can take 2-4 hours. Now many dental tourists hop on a plane and within 1.5 to 5 hours - they are in Cabo San Lucas - a world-class vacation destination. And one Mexican Dentist pays the airfare from any major US city, saving the patient another $200 to $750 dollars.

Mexican dentists in Cabo San Lucas are reaping a whirlwind of patients fed up with the high prices of dentistry in the USA. Dental tourism has grown substantially in recent years in Los Cabos (Cabo San Lucas and nearby by San Jose del Cabo) with American patients taking advantage of low air and hotel prices, and enjoying dental vacations with their savings.

Cabo Cosmetic Dental.com has taken dental tourism to a higher level by offering Free Hotel or Air Fare to Full-Mouth Restoration Cosmetic Dental patients. They offer other incentives to lesser treatment patients as well. Check with them to see which hotels are participating in their Dental Tourism Promotion.

Cabo´s doctors and dentists have been featured on Discovery Channel and TV Make-over shows, Good Morning America TV, NBC Today Show and in the NY Times. Often entire families visit each year for their dental cleanings, fillings, crowns and dentures and vacation free with their savings.

Porcelain crowns or root canals run $800 to $3,000US in American big cities but are generally $395-500 in Cabo, while full-mouth cosmetic dental makeovers costing $40,000 to $100,000 in the USA - cost only $10,000 to $25,000 in Cabo. Implants are a fraction of stateside prices using the same famous brands such as Nobel Biocare.

Safety and sanitation are equal in better medical facilities and worse in rural ones whether in the USA or in Mexico. Mexican dentists use latex gloves, digital sterilizing ovens for their instruments, face shields, masks, anti-bacterial soaps and scrubs etc. and are regularly inspected by government health authorities.

Besides professional care, dental tourists visiting Los Cabos can expect warm, friendly care by dentists happy to host foreign patients visiting their country. Mexican doctors do complain though. About Gringos always showing up on time, or even early for appointments.... That's so un-Mexican....

One of the oldest and most respected clinics in Cabo is Cabo Cosmetic Dental Clinic (CCD). They've treated 1,000's of patients over the past 30 years. And have even been known to open on a Sunday to get those crowns set so the patient can fly out on time.

At CCD you can have everything from general dentistry, crowns and implants to full-mouth cosmetic makeovers. The prices are quite low even for Cabo because Dr. Arciga the dentist owns his facility - (no rent) and does his own work or with another doctor to assist. He doesn't believe in having dental assistants take x-rays or do cleanings - he does it himself the old-fashioned way.

Besides being a dental implant specialist, he has a certificate in cosmetic oral rehabilitation - or cosmetic dental makeovers. He is a true cosmetic dentist. This specialty is not taught in American dental schools as the ADA doesn't recognize cosmetic dentistry as a separate specialty.

Cosmetic dentists is the USA have to learn this art hard way - on their patients. Any dentist in the USA (or Mexico) can wake up one morning and hang out a Cosmetic Dentist sign without certification. Much in the same way a lot of general physicians in the US and Mexico become plastic surgeons overnight. Certification or Board Approved designations are important tests for choosing the best specialists anywhere.

I've been living in Mexico for over a decade and have had dental work done over the past 50 years on both sides of the border. There are good and not-so-good dentists everywhere. Cabo Cosmetic Dental is one of the better and affordable ones around.

My husband and I visited Dr. Rosa and staff for extensive dental work in August. The work was superior, the procedures absolutely painless, Drs. Pena and Garcia were lovely and patient professionals. We were treated like family or guests...not like numbers.

We will be returning. NOT for the low prices (which were amazingly affordable), but for the excellent care and the feeling of 'family' created by Rosy, Edwardo, David, the wonderful Dr. Pena and her staff.
