Meditation Types To Consider



Mindfulness Meditation:


Mindfulness meditation is an awareness of the environment, physical senses, vibrations and pondering the vortex. We try to avoid emotional attachment and opinions here. Living in the present sets us free. Not holding on to the past, or feeling great concern for the future, living in the present sets one free. A perfect meditation setting would be the sanctuary of a wooded path, a cove by the sea, a private garden, or a mountain hike. Going within to reflect and ponder what is truly desired brings inner awareness, clarity and elegant simplicity.

Concentration Meditation:


Concentration forms a solid foundation for other meditation types. Choose an object to focus upon, or simply concentrate on the breath. Feel the energy penetrate the cells of the body. Gently release wandering thoughts without discernment. Through a rather intense focus, meaningless thoughts will be greatly reduced, one will begin to feel centered and living in the time present begins. Once the concentration is mastered, a deeper understanding may be experienced. This may begin to open doors to paranormal capabilities, which can become profound.

Zen Meditation:


Zen meditation, being practiced for over 2,500 years has penetrated the Western world with ancient wisdom. Sitting comfortably in the respected lotus style for hours upon hours, deep levels of consciousness including super consciousness are blissfully reached. The focus is again on breathing and blissful eternal nothingness. Through discipline, truth and patience, The physical body and mind unite, enhancing emotional well-being, balance and ultimately nirvana.

Vipassana Meditation:


Vipassana Meditation being the ancient Buddhist mindfulness meditation has also been practiced for more than 2,500 years. Great wisdom is based upon inner cognition, resulting from life contemplation, the true nature of reality. This practice itself is the meditative state. The focus is not on what one observes, rather the feeling and perceptiveness of the transformation of thy self for the highest good.

Taoist Meditation:


Taoist meditation has been practiced for centuries being a synchronization of mind and body through light stretches and movements. This type of physical activity may promote healing as visualization and gathering of life energy enhance well-being, focus and creativity. Jing meaning tranquility and ding meaning focus. A deep understanding of nature and the living of a long life are sought after here.

Buddhist Meditation:


This respected contemplative tradition represents several meditation types including concentration and mindfulness meditation. The gates open to reveal clarity, harmony and mindfulness. Exceptional concentration is developed and therefore assist through the evolution of physical life. The Buddhists refrain from luxuries as they prefer to blissfully meditate in the nirvana state for hours. Free of materialistic want, and daily stresses, they command harmony, tranquility and longevity.


Keep in mind the higher states of consciousness and resulting freedom is more important than the meditation method you choose.
