Bo's Photo Video at End of Article

Meet Obama's Puppy Bo

The Portuguese water dog, Bo, has been officially welcomed as top dog as the Obama's puppy. The Obama puppy was received from Senator Edward Kennedy as he owns several of the Portuguese water dogs. The Obama's puppy Bo arrived at the White House as a breed that will not irritate Malia who is one of President Obama's daughter's allergies.

The American public had speculated about the Obama Puppy since President Obama made the announcement in Grant Park upon accepting the position as President Elect of the United States. President Obama specifically said that the Obama daughters had to "earn" the puppy for inclusion into the Obama family.

The first dog moves in and photos show reporters with the microphone pointing in fun for a few words. The Portuguese water dog has web feet but unfortunately Bo can not swim. Dog experts have said that the Portuguest water dog is very active and would require to be walked on a daily basis. Bo appeared very active in the video at the end of the article as he is only six month old and is full of energy.

Dog breeders have said that Bo will eventually realize his fame and may even develop an attitude. Right now, the first family is busy getting acquainted with the first dog. Bo was held for over a month to be trained not to chew the furnishings and to have good dog behavior.

Other famous presidential dogs include George W. Bush scottish terrier, Barney who had his own website on www.whitehouse.gov., and another dog, Miss Beazley. Bill and Hillary Clinton had a cat and a dog named Socks and Buddy who drew quite a lot of attention from the news media. Hillary Clinton assembled a Book of Letters for her pet. Sock's bad behavior to Buddy landed him to a different home other than the White House. Barbara Bush springer spaniel dictated a book to her and the dog was named Millie.

It is yet to be seen what impact the first dog and Obama's puppy Bo will have on the first family. For now the crisis of getting the first dog moved into the White House is over that was promised after the 2008 presidential elections.

Issues veritas, I am going to have to Google Joey. I had no idea that the Obamas had a dog before. Thank you for your comment.

I have seen the breed once. They look like large poodles when grown and are very handsome. Now the breed is going to be the most popular in the world. Senator Kennedy owns a few of the Portuguese water dogs as well.
