People use a lot of terms to describe Belgrade, but the one which goes all around the world is charm.

Why should you wish to visit one city? Why should you wish to visit Belgrade? What is the thing you expect and wat kind of expressions one visitor can take with himself about it? For sure I can't give you expressions, but I can give you some information for why to visit and what to visit. But not only that. My first idea is also to try to teach you how to enjoy in all what Belgrade as city give. So in this part I want to start with introducing you with some mine staff about my favorite, not only because I'm born in it, city.

Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia. Its one of the oldest cities in Europe - belive it or not. The first settlements in the Belgrade area date from prehistoric Vinca, 4800 before century. But Belgrade itself was founded by the Celts in the III century BC, before becoming the Roman settlement of Lux.

At start Belgrade (Beograd) was called Singidunum and it was ancient Roman city, which Skordisians were first settled in the III century BC. Later Singidunum found the Romans. First Slavic name of Belgrade was Beligrad and it was first recorded in 878 year, but Belgrade is the capital of Serbia since 1403 and was the capital of the various South Slav states from 1918. until 2003. After 2003. until 2006, Belgrade was capital city of Serbia and Montenegro.

The city lies at the confluence of the Sava and Danube in central Serbia. It is an ancient city rich in history, with the most beautiful location in Europe. Many of visitors says that is also the city with the most interesting men and most beautiful women. I wouldn't disagree with this for sure! In the first place first what attract its people, then boulevards and walkways, gardens and the coast, sun, coffee shops and restaurants, museums, pace of life, fun... And now you should say that all of bigger and more or less famous cities have all that, but no. Who comes once in Belgrade becoming immediately addicted. Like every man, every city has his biography and character, history of childhood and youth time, holidays, dreams, delusions, defeats...But its seems that Belgrade is city who just don't want to grow up.

Belgrade have life of a city on the border of two civilizations, at the confluence of two rivers Danube and Sava and under the mountain called Avala. With Knez Mihajlova as mine walk street where everything usually happens, with gypsies playing at night in bohemian street Skadarlija, with sound of tambura, wine and coffee tables in front of kafanas, Belgrade shows that the East is still not disappear completely, and that West still didn't take over city in which people carry crossroads in themselves. Once when you come to Belgrade you have a feeling that you already know all people around, and somehow you have feeling that there are people closer to each other than in any other place. In all the places rule a good mood like they are all in some magic.

And charm?? Belgrade charm is just irresistible! The best what its have as a metropolis are its residents and their spontaneity, charm and hospitality, will to have fun and to show to all travelers and international travelers how to have fun in their city. His openness and willingness to accept visitors will continue to be the most important part of the Belgrade tourism.

In every next part of my writing we will talk about some interesting place to visit and how to visit, and of course how to take the best from it.

Cheers to all readers and welcome to my lovely city!
