OH MY GOD! Meeting Batista was like a dream come true!!!! Here's how it happened...

I was watching Monday Night Raw and it was about 1:45am and Jack Korpela the announcer for events happening in Canada, made an annoucement that Batista was coming to Toronto and being sponsered by Nutrabolics... I had no idea and was kind of sleepy so I thought I had dreamt the whole incident. I went to bed that night thinking I was crazy and that I would never have the chance to meet my idol.

In the morning, I went on the Nutrabolics website just for fun, and sure enough he WAS coming to Toronto, to the Eaton Centre on June 21st , 2008.

I knew that I had to get VIP tickets because that way I was SURE to be able to meet him. The ad had said that the only way to get tickets was to buy them from the Nutrabolics store at the Eaton Centre in Toronto. Now, this was hard because I am living near Barrie, Ontario about 2 hours away, and I don't drive on the highway, plus I was working nights that week, so I had to beg my mom to drive to Toronto and get the tickets. To my pleasant surprise, she went along willingly and was able to get 2 VIP passes.

I immediately called up my best friend and mentioned that I had tickets to meet BATISTA, and even though she is not a fan herself, she accompanied me and took all my pictures and was there for moral support, like when I almost fainted with emotion!!!

June 21^st, arrived and needless to say I was really, really excited. I gave my friend her VIP pass and we headed to the Eaton Centre. The line was right out of the store and down the mall for about 2 kilometres and there were hundreds and hundreds of WWE fans lined up to meet their favourite wrestler.

I approached the security guard and asked him where the line-up was for VIP ticket holders and he said "right this way" as the crowd parted and we were ushered into the GNC store. I was freaking out! Then, there were only a few people in front of us and I began to snap pictures, check out how sweaty and nervous I was!

As the line-up became less and less, I inched closer and closer to my "dream" man, he's not only very good-looking, but he's extremely talented and down to earth. As I approached the desk, my whole body was shaking and I thought I wouldn't even be able to remember my own name!

One of his publicists asked me what I had in my hand, and I said "oh it's a gift" and Batista smiled and seemed genuinely surprised that I had bought him a gift. I had read in his book, " The Animal Unleashed" that his favourite music was opera, so I bought him a CD disk set of Luciano Pavarotti.

When he looked at it and saw who it was he smiled and said" Thanks so much, not a lot of people know that I like his music". I was thrilled to have given him something he would enjoy!

Next it came time for me to give him the copy of his book to sign and he asked me my name and he signed" To Monica, All the best and thanks for the CD" Dave Batista." Then I thought, " its now or never" and I put out my hand and his huge hand enveloped mine and I turned around for the great pic! I was SOOOO EXCITED as you can probably tell from this photo!

I never thougt that I would have the chance to meet my idol and was so pleased that he was very friendly and personable and made the experience one I will always remember! BATISTA ROCKS!!!!
