Keepsakes

It is very difficult to deal with losing a loved one. Using memorial jewelry to keep something of the past, is helpful during the grieving process.

Cremation is becoming more and more popular. There are several reasons for this; the two biggest reasons seem to be because the process is more affordable than traditional burial and it gives the family more freedom with the memorial service. Tytpically in traditional burial, a person must be buried within a short amount of time. With cremation, several people wait for the right time and place for scattering or burial. They also have the option to separate some of the cremains so that some family members, perhaps if they couldn’t make the ceremony, can have a memorial of the past.

Typically keepsake urns house the cremated remains of a loved one. But they also can be used to hold a lock of hair, crushed flowers, or some other meaningful item. Although a keepsake is often used for the cremated remains, it is not necessary to have gone the cremation route. Flowers can be kept inside from a burial service. You don’t have to think that a keepsake is used for only ashes. Furthermore, there are lockets which are very special keepsakes. They can be sued to keep both photos and another memento.

Though most cremation jewelry is available as necklaces and pendants, these keepsakes can also be displayed in glass domes. Usually, this dome is used as a permanent storage space for jewelry with these being removed only to be worn on special occasions. The glass dome then becomes an important part of the memorial, where the keepsake is housed.

There are several different types of cremation jewelry to choose from, the most popular being stainless steel and silver. The stainless steel keepsakes are very durable and come with a gasket which ensures a water tight seal on the urn. Silver cremation jewelry is surprising beautiful and is quite affordable. This combination seems to make these pieces very popular with families in America.

Other types of cremation jewelry include blue cobalt keepsakes, wood keepsakes and lockets. The blue cobalt jewelry only within the last 5 years has become popular as cremation jewelry. With In the Light Urns introducing this product, many other memorial distributors followed along. The most popular blue cobalt piece being the Mother and Child keepsake, with a mother and child on each side of the blue cobalt glass and holding hands to form a heart.

Cremation jewelry is a wonderful route to memorialize your loved one. We are proud to work very hard to make our collection one of the best available. Thank you for reading.
