74Sometimes it's good to take a break from the petty problems of the world and focus on something important, so here we are men, discussing what could be one of the greatest dilemmas for a man who wears panties. Should you wear a thong or a bikini? Because this could conceivably affect the rest of your life, it's a decision you need to make with as much information at your fingertips as possible.
Here's the scoop...
Thongs...
- can be worn to give you that 'sexy' whale tale look. This is nice if you like to pretend you're a slutty teen girl, or an older woman who wishes she was a slutty teen girl.
- may ride up uncomfortably. Strike that. Thongs will ride up uncomfortably. It is this writer's opinion that people who wear thongs, be they male or female, are masochists of the highest order. This problem is exacerbated for males who have sensitive apparatus down yonder and who may not enjoy having the thin strap of fabric acting getting tangled up. Then again, some men might like that sort of thing. To each his own.
- mean that there is no 'VPL' or visible panty line. Now this can come in handy if you're one of these men who wants to wear panties to work or just out in general, but who doesn't want to be discovered. Thongs have long been worn by women as a kind of covert panty, a tool that allows them to wear tight, sheer fabrics around their posteriors without showing off less sexy panty lines. Those little minxes might be on to something, you know.
Bikini Cut Panties...
- provide nice firm coverage, which for many men, is what wearing panties is all about in the first place. There is a decent proportion of the panty wearing male population that prefers to feel their panties across their backsides, sliding in that smooth way that only a nice pair of panties can. A thong simply can't compete when it comes to coverage.
- are much more comfortable than thongs. Though there are some people both male and female who claim that thongs are comfortable, I think they're either lying, or the nerve in their posterior region have been so numbed by years of thong torture, or perhaps regular ass kicking, that they no longer know what they're talking about.
- are a little boring. Kind of. In many ways they're the sliced white bread of the panty world. Having said that, I quite like sliced white bread, as it makes excellent toast, and never chafes my privates.
Well men, the choice is yours, so chose wisely. It may one day be vitally important.

I enjoy reading your articles on the hub, Hope. I am a male who likes to wear female panties. Additional I prefer, thong cut. I will explain, again for those why I like to wear this style of panty.
First I feel that it is comfortable, against my skin, and to wear when I select underneath my cloths. I must admit that I do not wear panties as much as I would want. As I am still concerned about other people's perception, or reaction if they were to catch me wearing women's panties.
The first thing any male or female must do is purchased the right size underwear. I fear this is where most of the problems occur for men, as they are traditionally not in the womens section so they are unaware of sizing, and cut.
I wear a size 8, 9 or 10 depending on the brand. I purchased some Vasserette thongs and I wear a size 9 comfortably. I recently purchased some Joe Boxer panties and those are in size 10. I also have some off the rack panties that are 8. I agree with the other posts on some of the other hubpages regarding selecting a style.
Also men and women should decide if they are going to wear prints, designs or solids. I perfer wearing a nice floral print panty.
I have been wearing panties for years now and can truely say that there are occasions for wearing either. I love thongs for when I want to feel sexy and get the chance to go out on a lunch date - whether or not I actually get lucky. But I must say that I regularly wear bikinis for day to day. Regarless of the panties that I wear, I just want to feel girly and after all it is the attire that makes the woman. Tabby.

I am also a male that prefers to wear panties. They fit me much better than mens underwear and they are a lot softer to wear. My favorite is thongs and boyshort panties. My wife even buys them for me.
I wear sheer and satin panties even to work. The most comfortable ar ethe full back bikinis and I buy them off Ebay since the store I used to go to here closed. Noe I buy panties made for men. I do av esome mesh ones too and some thongs.
The reason I wear them is they ar ebetter support and they feel good.
I wear thongs except when I am doing physical activity - then I wear a bikini - only wear mens underwear to and from the gym
I have been wearing panties for years, G-string with full back coverage is my favorite. I don't like panties make for men, they are bulky and you would feel feminine. Occassionally I wear thong, but I choose a bigger size as you know man have bigger load infront. I also like elastic micro fibre materials, in it I feel myself sexy. I wear girl boyshot panties to gym and doctor visits.
I've been wearing panties for years. I love the feel and comfort of them. Mens underwear are to tight and constricting. I wear bikinis and boyshorts. I wear them every day, no matter what i'm doing. Dosen't matter if they are cotton, satin or lacy. I just love the way they feel.
Its bikinis or hi-cut panties for me... I don't like the feel of the thong riding up between my cheeks and also stuff can tend to fall out with thongs..

MM...well personally I like to wear both, but prefer a lace thong and a satin pair of panties (tangas or bikinis). French knickers too...silk and lace...silk for comfort...round the house, in the garden, etc... Lace holds me more...better for outdoor activities..walking the dog, mowing the lawn....It also depends what I'm wearing with them..what sort of camisole, suspender belt and that..try to match colours as well as fabrics....do tend to feel "sluttier2 if i don't match my underwear though...probably stems from "older" porn...
Nothing can compare with the thrill of the forbidden or the danger of detection, but thongs are just downright uncomfortable, plain and simple. My preference is for seamless french cut panties of the most gossamer variety that gently remind me throughout the day of the pleasure that delicate lingerie has to offer!
Hope, I agree that thongs are both uncomfortable and inapropriate for a man that enjoys women's panties. My taste is for seamless french-cut briefs in the most gossamer fabric possible. A barely there with a damask pattern also leaves no ambiguity about the feminine nature of the garment and reminds me of its presence all day long! I've tried thongs, boyshorts & bikinis & have to agree that the thongs are not as comfortable. But I have also worn a silk thong cut for men from Wintersilks which was better than the womens thongs I've tried. Good feel but more expensive.
I usually wear victorias secret second skin bikinis and sometimes thongs from the same line. The thongs were uncomfortable at first but I have started to really enjoy wearing them and I agree that it is the thrill of the forbidden that is the biggest turn on!!

I agree bikini is better - some of the lo riding panties don't provide enough comfort front and rear. Regardless of cut the one style that is truly uncomfortable to a man is the mesh front - particularly if the mesh is sufficiently coarse as the manly bits try and force themselves through and convey the feeling of being forced through a mesh. Look nice feel not so nice (sigh)
I was in an outlet mall a few days ago and walked into a Maidenform store which was full off womens panties, bras, etc. The young sales lady asked me if needed help and I told her I was just looking. The store wasn't busy and I got up enough courage to ask her if I could try on a few pairs of really girly thong panties. She said that is fine and lead me to the womens fitting room. I tried them over my own panites I already had on and couldn't believe she let me use the fitting room. I left the fitting room and told her they fit great and checked out and I thanked her for letting me try them on.
Let's talk about the dreaded visible panty line in an office situation. Let's say that you are panties under your office clothes. Nothing is showing above the waist. No bra is worn. The only way to guess what underwear you are wearing is by the panty lines, but, to complicate matters, they might also be male underwear. What business is it to other employees what underwear you wear, as long as it is discrete and doesn't lower your productivity? They can't force you to lower your pants so they can verify what you wear, can they, any more they would if it were a woman wearing male underwear?

Dear Hope! i've been a big fan of you and your hubs and finally i've found the most interesting topic i would start my first comment on!
it's been years that i only wear thongs. indeed it's a big matter to choose the right sizes, but never forget the styles and fabrics! rarely would i wear the "sting" ones cuz they really floss!! it feels sooo much better with the wider ones; and my little trick is to stick it up evenly between the cheeks each time putting on, that way there'll be close to zero flossing (i find, at least) and i'll be good until the next time i use the washroom. choose the right thongs and who says thongs are all so uncomfortable?!

Wear both styles but I do prefer the bikini style. I only wear women's and wouldn't consider anything else, too comfy!

For me it is Hi-cut or a Frrench cut style! I love colors, and some lace.
I prefer thongs; always have, probably always will. Fortunately, I don't look ridiculous in them...always a concern for guys. I have over 100 pairs of cotton thongs, in may different colors. I also have many different pairs of "special" thongs...lace thongs, satin thongs, the very sexy Jockey "No Panty Line" tactel thongs. I like the way thongs feel. However, just in case the occasion calls for something other than a thong, I do like boy shorts; again, Jockey "No Panty Line" tactel-type boyshorts are very sexy and very comfortable.
