Men In Panties: What Makes The Perfect Panty? (How To Chose Panties)
88Gorgeous Satin Panties
So we all love panties, but which panties do we love most of all, and why? This is the question that plagues not just panty aficionados, but your average john or jane doe seeking to purchase a pair of panties for themselves. A great pair of panties soon becomes like a comforting second skin, making you feel confident, sexy, and at ease. A bad pair of panties can cause day long discomfort.
So what factors go into a great pair of panties, and what do you need to look for when purchasing panties? There are three main factors that can indicate how good a pair of panties is going to be before you even put them on.
Material/Fabric
The material that panties are made of is probably the most important factor in deciding how good a pair of panties are. The most common material in use besides cotton is a nylon blend that closely emulates the look of silk and satin. Be aware that when you purchase a lower quality pair of panties made of this material, there is a high chance that the fabric will start to ruffle and pill with wearing and washing. A cheap pair of panties generally only have a life of a few months if they are regularly worn, before they start looking ratty. Higher quality fabrics such as silk and satin not only look better, but feel better, and when cared for correctly, will stay looking good for a rather long time. Be aware however that in gaining the look and feel of these higher quality fabrics you are losing some of the absorption properties, so be careful with where your bodily fluids are going when you wear these types of fabric.
Cut
The second, or perhaps first equal factor in determining which panties are good and which are great depends largely on the cut of panties. If a cut is not right for your body shape, then it doesn't matter if the panties are made from the silkworm aristocracy themselves, they will not be as comfortable as they could be. There are many types of cut, such as bikini, brief, thong, the list goes on. Which of these cute you prefer will come down to your body shape and personal preference. Be aware however, that not all cuts are made equal, and a bikini cut of one brand may fit you better than the bikini cut of another brand. Unfortunately this tends to be something that can only be learned by trial and error, and is a good reason to have an extensive panty collection.
Stitching
Stitching is often overlooked as a factor because it tends to be unobtrusive. Unobtrusive stitching is a very good thing because it means that the stitching is doing its job. Bad stitching soon rears its ugly head in the case of panties that have been made in sub standard fashion. Bad stitching can cause seams to split, the elastic to come loose, and lacey trims to fall off panties entirely, to name a few problems. Generally speaking, the more you pay for panties the more likely it is that they will have good stitching, but many medium and lower price brands also offer a value product.
So how can you tell the difference between good and bad stiching?
Signs that sitiching is substandard include loose threads, uneven stitches, and bunches in the material where there shouldn't be any. If these things are present in any pair of panties you examine, you should avoid purchasing them, unless you enjoy the feeling of having your underwear disintegrating whilst you wear it.
In Conclusion...
Finding the perfect panty can be a difficult task. A little like dating, you may have to feel the kiss of several ugly frog panties against your skin before you find the ones that suit your taste, style and budget. Keep at it though, and remember that this is definitely one of those quests where the journey is equally as important as the destination.

Thanks for sharing the tip cocacolafan!
I love Wacoal Body Suede panites, they are comfortabe and a perfect fit for me. And on my thong dsys, its OnGossamer Mesh thong. And I have both in most colors. I also find they last longer if you wash them in a lingerie bag. Hand washing may be best but I never seem to have the time.
Great tips Doreen R, thanks! I'm sure those will be helpful to others.
Wacoal has a relatively new line of High Cut and more of a Boy Cut, in a wonderful Nylon/Spandex blend. I prefer te high cut. Also, Josie Natori has a line, Underneath that are wonderful as well, I like the Body Doubles French Cut and the Lace Trim Body Doubles Girl Brief/ My 2 cents worth.
Hope keep up the good worl!
For department store brands: Warners, Olga and Bali all have excellent panties in both High Cut and Hipster models (of course full briefs too) that fit excellent for all day wear. Vanity Fair has an extensive line of panties that fit men perfectly... from the Twin String Bikini all the way up the Ravissant or Lace Nouveau full briefs they are well made, comfortable and (above all) sexy!
Thank you for all of your great tips Hope!
Jockey has some great stuff at great prices. Their tactel line, comfies line, and model line are all incredibly comfortable! The tactel is a bit shiny, promises no VPL, and comes in a variety of styles. Feels ultra soft & smooth too. The low rise string-bikini and lace bikini are favorites. They've got good color selection too, though not every color one would want.

As close to unisex thong underwear as it comes that meets the quality and construction challenges listed above would have to include the calvin klein D2220 model and the corresponding bikini style. Yes, not cheap, not frilly, but for comfort on men; awesome!
