Is it really lying or just stretching the truth?
Most men I have known would rather tell a little white lie or stretch the truth instead of just coming plain out and saying what they really wanted to say!
It is so difficult for them to tell the truth, especially when it comes to dating and relationships. They would rather jump off a bridge, get hit by a truck and lose a limb than simply say it like it is. Have we as women instilled so much fear in them that they have become genetically programmed to do this?
What comes to mind is dating, when you first meet a new guy and everything seems to click and he tells you that he will call you. You never hear from him again. Well, we think to ourselves, why couldn’t he just say to you at that moment that he didn’t feel any connection, it was nice meeting you and each go your separate ways? Was he afraid to death that you would take a fit, shoot him and feed you to piranhas? Maybe he was.
Sometimes, they do the same thing in relationships. You ask them a question, they answer off-handed or change the subject. Then, when you do find out the truth, they deny whatever it was, or tell you they misunderstood, forgot, or whatever they may dream up!
If you ask your husband or boyfriend their opinion on something that looks good (a piece of furniture, clothing, artwork) most likely than not, he will answer favourably to you as not to stir up any conflict or reaction. Often, he will not really give a rat’s furry behind on the object you are so interested in. Simple as that. He might be agreeing with you, but secretly saying to himself, “do I really care? I rather be mowing the lawn or watching football right now with a cold icy one.
My opinion is that it is a fact, and something most of us have to live with.
