Military health care

I don't understand why the men and women that are in the military, whether it be the Navy, Marines, Army, or Air Force, they should be entitled to be cared for by any hospital in this country for free. Why do they have to go to a VA Hospital in order to get free treatment? All they would need is a military ID card and they should be given the same treatment as any citizen of this country and be allowed to go to any hospital in this country. The VA hospitals would not be necessary. I am sorry but I have had bad experiences with the VA Hospitals. My father died in the VA Hospital and I did not like the way he was treated by the nurses or the doctors. I have spoken to many people that have the same feelings about the VA Hospitals. The saying is "if you want your loved one to die, take him to the VA Hospital, he'll go in but won't come out ". So lets take away the VA Hospital's and let the Military men and women of this country be allowed to go to any hospital they wish to go to. Some cities have only 1 Va Hospital and some Veterans have to travel miles to go to the hospital when they are not feeling good. That's not right, they should be allowed to go to the nearest hospital from where they live. It seems like they are being pushed away from this society when they need to be a part of this society. The Veterans are a major part of this Country, lets not forget that.

My Dad died because of this same reason. He was sick he would not go to a civilian hospital because it would cost to much money. The military hospital couldn't get him in when they should have because the doctor he needed to see wasn't there. By the time we convinced him he had to go to another hospital it was to late, what he had could have been fixed if he had went earlier. It's hard to talk from miles away to parents that won't listen. I don't blame this all on the military I think my parents have to take much of the blame. I do wish they could have just walked into to any hospital with out a thought and just their military ID.

Good hub.
