Mens Grooming - Hair Removal Do's and Don’ts
68
Hair removal by men was mostly limited to the hair on the head and the face. A hairy hand and a hairy chest symbolized masculinity till recently. The current trend of metro-sexuality has paved way for beauty therapies for men who can now be seen having a facial or a body grooming. Men’s hair removal is no more a fad; it is considered the essentials of a well groomed man.
Men’s Hair Removal Dos:
Armpit Hair
Most men have a good growth of hair under the arm. Although this is acceptable in sorts, a jungle of unkempt hair not only looks ugly but also harbors sweating and its related smell. You don’t need to shave your arm completely, just trim the hair to a reasonable length.
Chest Hair
Hair on the chest has long been related to masculinity and most women like to see some hair on their man’s chest. However the carpet variety is unappealing to say the least. If your lady likes a clean ground you may go for complete hair removal otherwise you may opt to thin out the hair leaving just a bit. If you choose to shave the hair completely, remember to have it removed regularly as the bristly stubble growth can cause discomfort to you and her.
Shoulder And Back Hair
While the hair on your chest may signify masculinity, hair on shoulders and back is considered unsightly. There does not seem to be any logical reason to this issue, but it is advisable to get rid of the hair on your shoulders and back.
Pubic Hair
A neatly groomed hair around your genitals can actually arouse her senses beyond your thinking. Lesser hair in this area also helps control sweating and unpleasant odors as it is kept closed almost all the time.
Men’s Hair Removal Don't
Shaving your armpits bare seems to be acceptable only if you are a model, or a swimmer. Otherwise a hairless armpit may become a question on your masculinity. Similarly, clean shaven torso and genitals suits only swimmers and bikers (who do it for the sake of speed). Regular men indulging in this may look weird. If you still so choose to go bare all over, have your leg hair removed too to avoid looking ridiculous. Avoid shaving your hair in patterns; it would be one of the silliest things to do
Hair Removal Techniques
Some of the common techniques of men’s hair removal are shaving, waxing and sugaring, tweezing, trimmers, electrolysis and laser treatment.
Waxing and sugaring are used for removing hair on the eyebrows and the unibrow, back, chest, genital area, back of neck, legs, toes, and knuckles.
Tweezing is used on your eyebrows, toes and knuckles.
Trimmers are used to remove hair in your ears, nose hair, and genital area, on the nape of your neck, sideburns and eyebrows.
Electrolysis is used on eyebrows and unibrow, and also to remove the sporadic hairs that spring up on your face and neck.
Laser hair removal techniques are most effective on your back hair, unibrow and nape of your neck.
