All About Men's Office Bags

Today, with the busy working schedule of every working professional, men and women alike have been searching for the perfect bag, laptop case or attach‚. The fact that every employee has a laptop - whether company issued or personal - also makes the need for a bag, a men's briefcase, for example, more pronounced.
But how do you choose the perfect bag for you then? While this feat maybe a little bit easier for a woman, this is not necessarily true for a man. Putting double standards aside, the fact is, unlike women, men cannot really experiment much on the nature and style of their bags. In a way, men's choices are confined into the following:
Attach‚s
Rectangular and shallow, attach‚s are usually secured using a combination of locks. Owning one will surely make you look like the old-school businessman.
Inside this type of "men's briefcase," you can find pockets which can either be removed or are staying there permanently. The most important feature of an attach‚ is perhaps the fact that it can be opened flat, as such, it can be used as an improvised desk. This is perfect for you when you are mobile and you need to check something on your files fast. So instead of wasting time and money to get to the nearest coffee shop just to be able to use one of their tables, you can just find a bench, put the attach‚ on your lap and in an instant, you have made yourself an improvised desk.
Briefcases
Usually, these are opened from the top. The most common men's briefcase is one that has a flap, instead of a zipper, for closure. Just like an attach‚, this type of men's briefcase comes with many compartments and pockets. As if multiple compartments are not enough, some briefcases even have gussets that make way for expandability. Therefore, this type of men's briefcase has enough room however plenty your files, documents, and books may be. This is perhaps the reason why this is ideal for accountants, lawyers and professors. In addition, with this type of men's briefcase, you are given options as to how your will carry it: through a fixed handle or through a shoulder strap.
Envelopes
Envelopes are increasingly becoming more popular and are replacing the traditional men's briefcase. Why? Because envelopes allow you to carry a lot of things less the bulk and weight offered by other kinds of bags. While some envelopes have handles and detachable shoulder straps, the most common ones are those that are carried under the arm. Also, unlike attach‚s and briefcases, envelopes only have a single compartment.
Today, many prefer to use envelopes, instead of the traditional laptop briefcases, for their laptop. With envelopes, you will feel more secure carrying your laptop on your arm, rather than from a bag hanging from your shoulder. Envelopes take away unnecessary weight too, perfect indeed for men and women who have a small frame and who need to bring a laptop day in and day out.
Offices-on-the- Go
This is another term for your rolling briefcase. While this type of bag is perfect for overnight travel, this should not be utilized on a daily basis. Otherwise, your colleagues will wonder where you are flying to or what you are selling.
A rolling briefcase, often called a briefcase on wheels, features a trolley system. Usually, this type of bag is made from leather or lightweight aluminum.
Backpacks
Today, backpacks are not anymore for the grade schooler or the athlete. In fact, many businessmen prefer a backpack over any other type of men's briefcase because the former is easier to carry. In addition, backpacks today already come in elegant styles in that they too can carry a laptop in them. They are also multi-pocketed, so they always have room for your laptop's wires, your mouse, your files, your books, your pens and even your phone.
Whatever type of bag you prefer, make sure that you take care of it. Those made from leather, a men's briefcase or an envelope for example, need a special kind of care. You should regularly clean it. Of course, you must use the appropriate cleaning agent depending on the kind of leather that your bag is made of.
For instance, for a men's briefcase made of finished leather, you should use a damp sponge dipped in a mild liquid dishwashing agent. For those made of suede or nubuck, use cleaners that are specifically made for them. Of course, don't forget to wipe it with a leather conditioner every once in a while so your briefcase will have a longer life.
To say that men have limited office bag choices may be an exaggeration. Given the options above, you'll realize that there's no limitation at all. You have at least five choices; surely, that's more than enough for you to find the one that will fit your taste.
