Seperating Yourself From Your Mind

You are not who you think you are. In fact, you never were who you thought you are. The things that happened to you in the past never really happened. And our plans for tomorrow as about as real as the tooth fairy...

That is because most people don't understand that all the truly exists, the true reality of what IS doesn't come from what you've done or who you are going to become. It comes from right Now.

The problem is that most people allow their ego to control their thoughts, their mind, and therefore their actions. Humans have continued failing to realize that their ego, or better known as the mind, is not who they are.

The ego is based upon materialistic things of this world. And therefore can only provide you instant gratification. The ego lives and thrives off negativity. The more you feed it the more it consumes you and your life. The more drama it creates. The more despair, hate, jealousy, and violence will it bring.

Overcoming Your Ego

It is a sad fact to realize that most everyone on this planet lets their ego run their life. But it is more than true. It is a reality. Greed, corruption, and violence all stem from the ego. Without an ego, they could not exist.

So what exactly is an ego?

Your ego is your projection of yourself viewed through your mind based upon the events of your past and the ideas of your future. The fake you.

Let me get this straight, you are telling me that my past doesn't make me who I am?

You got it. You past does not make you. Your past is just a collection of memories. Things that have happened once at a certain place in time. It is true that they did happen, but they are no longer happening. Making them irrelevant as to what's going on in the present moment.

This leads me to why people are still so interconnected with the egoic mind. Because they have not realized there is anything else. They have not realized that they have actually become a slave to the mind. That the mind is controlling them with it's constant thoughts of negativity and judgement.

Time To Break Free

Once you realize that you are being controlled by the mind something immediately changes within you. That's because you began watching the ego. Now there are two voices within you. That of the ego and the one watching the ego.

What you will notice is as soon as you start watching the ego it stops having control over you. This is called becoming conscious. When you become conscious, especially of the ego you will begin to feel a stillness within you. And that stillness is what I like to call The Now. Otherwise known as The Present Moment.

When you attain this state of consciousness all things become possible. This is how athletes are able to push the limits of the human body. It is what they would refer to as The Zone. A place where you are truly within The Now. A place where all things become possible.

Learn, Apply, & Grow...

I know this was a very brief article on this topic and this stuff gets WAY more in depth. The information you have read here is what I have learned from reading The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It's an absolutely brilliant book and will seriously awaken your inner powers as a human being.

But just like anything in life. If you want to benefit from this type of knowledge the best way to do that is to put it into practice for yourself. My advice to you would be to start watching your thoughts. And every time you feel your ego stepping in simple acknowledge watching it. Start observing it's behavior and it will be powerless against you.

I have taken these same concepts and applied them directly to my life and my business. And as a result things began to flourish like never before. When you are enlightened, all things are possible and all things become possible through this means of practice.

The witness or observer state is the key to loosening the ego's sway. However, it is a state of no thought, or silence, that is cultured in the physiology by regular experience of the no-thought state with activity. Research shows that this is a state of restful alertness, as if an arrow pulled back on a bow but not released -- a state of pure potentiality.

I'm still in an existential haze of the 80's. While i appreciate your intellect and your depth of reasoning,

surely you can't expect anyone else to get there on the same wave. If I may, I might tune in a few times just to see if I'm reading too much into your process. Sometimes I manage

a brief flirtation with genius, but it is fleeting and next day I have a hangover.

Thanks for your post.
