Stay Away From the Mercer Hotel - Not at It!

Rudeness and High-Quality Sheets

Lindsay Lohan has been spotted at the Mercer Hotel. So, too, Kate Bosworth, Christina Ricci and Christina Aguilera.

Sir Ben Kingsley has been a Mercer Hotel guest. Harry Hamlin and his wife, actress Lisa Renna, attended a soiree at the hotel in January 2008.

And, of course, actor Russell Crowe almost earned an extended stay in jail after he threw a phone at a Mercer Hotel employee in 2005 after an argument.

Well, I stayed at the Mercer Hotel, too, just last week. And let me tell you, I would never go back. What celebrities find appealing about the overpriced, over-arrogant, rude hotel I don't know. I don't condone violence, but it wasn't hard to understand how Crowe might have been stoked into his outburst by the unpleasant staff who work there.

These people think they are doing you a big favor to permit you to stay at the hotel. Really, I've enjoyed stays at the Marriott Residence Inn ten times more than my stay at the Mercer Hotel. And the Marriott costs, well, seems like ten times less.

I've written a more extended review on my personal blog - www.deanrotbart.com - and I encourage you to read it.

If you are looking for a venue to waste a lot of money, enjoy yourself in Vegas and leave the Mercer Hotel to Lindsay Lohan.
