Best Time and Day To Book

If you’re looking for low cheap airfare you had better ensure you have plenty of coffee in the pot around Midnight any Wednesday, although you have until around 10:00am Thursday morning to clinch that low airfare deal. Please note though, optimum times are from Midnight Wednesday through 6:00am Thursday – Enjoy the bargain – Enjoy the coffee.

There are however, No-No days for booking. Never book your flight on Monday’s or Friday’s, unless of course you have more money than sense – You’ve been warned!

Best day’s to fasten seatbelts

Don’t fly on a Monday, or on a Friday. The optimum day to fly, well there are 2 optimum flying days actually, Wednesday and Thursday are the cheapest take-off days.

Mama, I don’t want cookies!

Clear the cookies (don’t worry, not the yummy chocolate chip variety). By cookies I mean those big brother entities which record your every move on a specific website, your search preferences, the pages you have visited, your password and ID information. When searching a website for low cheap airfare clear out them cookies.

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not for one moment suggesting the airline companies spy on you and interpret your search information, your destination, the prices already displayed to you. Oh No! It’s not that at all – but you get my message don’t you (wink-wink).

You have mail today!

Go to the airline price comparison sites and sign-up for newsletters and alerts. Be specific on which alerts you want to receive or you will be inundated with cheap flight prices, destinations and travel offers which don’t interest you.

It won’t hurt you to also sign up for Google alerts, again be specific. For instance, International flights for less than $600.

Vary your search times

When searching online for low cheap airfare it often pays to vary your search times. For example, search for your ideal flight first thing in the morning, record the information.

Search again at lunchtime, using the same search criteria as used in the morning, compare both results.

Repeat the search in the evening, and compare all 3 search results. Of course you can repeat this as often as you wish. You can then use these flight prices to guide you, moreover, if you do it often enough you may see a pattern emerging that will help to find cheap airline airfare. (Don’t forget to clear your cookies prior to each scheduled search time).

Just a quick note on the aforementioned point: The airlines figure prices by defining the flight as a cost centre. By this I mean they will decide what they need to bring-in (money) to make a profit on the flight. Bearing this in mind, they will divide the airplanes seating/inventory into cost segments. This means they have blocks of seats at different prices. By using savvy searching methods and varying your search times you can uncover a juicy fare, as sometimes, they will make more of the cheaper seats available. On the other hand if sales are going well they will also widen the more expensive segment.

I have given you a good range of tips to increase your chance of getting that low cheap airfare. If you want to further increase your chances I suggest you take a look at this Cheap Airfare guide Go Search Cheap Airfare Right Now, it’s less than $25 dollars to buy and written by a former pilot.
