Ingredients
- 1 16 ounce container of sour cream
- ½ cup of your favorite flavor of salsa or picante sauce.
Preparation Instructions
In a medium bowl, mix sour cream and salsa or picante sauce until thoroughly blended. Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours before serving.
Serving Suggestions
This dip tastes great with tortilla, corn, or potato chips and is also delicious as a dip for raw vegetables. It is also a terrific topping for tacos, quesadillas, and taco salad.
Mexican Dip Recipe # 2 – 7 Layer Bean Dip
Ingredients
- 1 can fat-free or regular refried beans
- 1 tablespoon of your favorite brand of taco seasoning mix
- 8 ounces of sour cream
- 1 cup of your favorite flavor of salsa or picante sauce
- 1 cup of shredded lettuce
- ½ cup of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of shredded Mexican or sharp cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup diced black olives
Preparation Instructions
Place the refried beans and the taco seasoning mix into a small bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. Spread the mixture on the bottom of an 8 X 8 square baking pan or a 9-inch pie plate. Spread the sour cream over the bean mixture and top with picante sauce. Add the remaining ingredients to the pan, layering one ingredient at a time. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours prior to serving.
Serving Suggestions
This dip is best served with tortilla or corn chips. If you have leftovers, you can use them as filling for a tasty burrito the next day.
Mexican Dip Recipe # 3 – Baked Refried Bean Dip
Ingredients
- 2 cans fat-free or regular refried beans
- 1 package of favorite brand of dry taco seasoning mix
- 8 ounces of sour cream
- 1cup shredded Mexican cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Please the refried beans, taco seasoning mix, and sour cream into a medium bowl and mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Place the mixture into an 8 X 8 baking dish or 9" pie plate. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Return to oven for approximately 10 minutes or until cheese is thoroughly melted.
Serving Suggestions
This dip is great with tortilla or corn chips. If you have leftovers, you can use them as burrito filling or as a side dish for any Mexican meal.
